The Dismal River section of Buchanan County, Virginia was a remote wilderness in the mid 1880. �That is when Henderson Fuller6 came from his birthplace on Rock Lick, to start a new life. �The house he made his "homestead" is still standing, although it has bee remodeled and made into a more modern one. �We may never know why he chose to leave the "nest" and venture into the wilderness to raise his family. �Many of his descendants are still living there today.
Henderson Fuller was born in the newly formed Buchanan County Virginia on January 22, 1859. He was the seventh child of George Fuller5 (aka: "Big George") and Sarah (Sally) Deel Fuller.
� � � � � On Oct 14, 1880, Henderson married Emily Cox, the daughter of Rueben and Juliann Cox. �Emily died shortly after the birth of the youngest daughter, Emily. �She and Henderson �had three children: � � � �
John Letcher Fuller b July ? 1881. �He married Mary V Compton in 1906. Mary was the daughter of Miles and Louisa Compton. �Their children were: Claude Fuller, Boman Fuller, Luther Reuben Fuller, Thomas Drayton Fuller, Perry Adam Fuller, Raymond Ellis Fuller, and Ruby Mae Fuller/Potter.
Rachel Fuller b August ?, 1884;�married Sam Matney.
Emily Fuller b 1886 married Jefferson Rowe.
On June 3, 1887, Henderson married Mary Jane Matney/Lee, daughter of John and Polly Matney. �They had 10 children:

Ida �M. Fuller b May ?, 1890; married Edward McClanahan on April 23, 1908, in Buchanan County Virginia.
George Fuller was born on �December 9, 1891. He died on Sept 1, 1892, being only 9 months old.
Silas Floyd Fuller b July 4, 1894. married Annie Ball.
Lawrence Fuller b July 1897; married Ida Meadows
Dock Fuller b September 9, 1899; married Pearl Dixon. �They had one child, a daughter, Evelyn, who married Ervin Rife. �Dock died on February 13, 1921 at his home in Raven VA. �He was building a fire in the cook-stove and poured gasoline on it, thinking it was kerosene.
Gallie Fuller born May 9, 1902-1904; married Narcie McGlothlin on June 17, 1920 in Buchanan County.
Arch Fuller born June 11, 1906, married Lear Mitchell.
Nancy Fuller b 1910, married Earnest Mullins on June 23, 1923.
Oca Fuller b 1912; married Arthur T. Keen on November 8, 1928.
