On Tuesday, November 12, 1996 I received an e-mail letter from Alma Vistro.
Alma told me that she had been browsing through the Regala family tree located
in my homepage and she inquired whether I am related to her husband's grandfather,
Eugenio Regala. Following that initial contact, Dong, Alma's husband, wrote
me saying that his mother, Linda Regala Vistro, informed him that her grandfather,
Venancio Regala, is the fifth sibling I indicated as a blank line (information
unknown) in Apung Anong's (Emiliano Regala) family. Linda Regala Vistro
is the oldest daughter of Eugenio Regala, the third son of Venancio Regala.
Dong was kind enough to provide the descendants of Venancio Regala and these
are now included in the ancestral tree of the Regalas of Lubao. A reunion
of the Venancio Regala family was held in December 1996 and Dong was able
to get more information about the families of Apung Posong (Alfonso Regala)
and Apung Maciong (Dalmacio Regala). Information I have subsequently received
has now been added into the Family Tree and as more information made available
it will be added. Also, several months ago I had been in contact with Antonio
(Jojo) Regala (through the kindness of his friend and neighbor, Joe Tan)
and were tryng to explore our family ties and he gave me the names of his
father (Alfonso) and an uncle (Eugenio) that I noted down for future reference
but did not find any concrete information linking their branch directly to
ours. Jojo told me that both his father and his uncle lived in Los Angeles,
California with Jojo's sister, Rhodora. January 26, 1997 - I contacted the
W. Regala listed in the telephone directory as residing in Scarborough, Ontario.
It turned out that W. Regala is Wilma, wife of Redentor Regala, who only
arrived in Toronto, a few months ago. Redentor's father is Jose Regala, son
of Dalmacio (Lolo Maciong) Regala.
I have not yet located the baptismal records for Venancio Regala. However,
on April 24, 1997 I located the baptismal record for Dalmacio Regala confirming
information that he is the son of Venancio Regala. However, the record indicates
that Venancio Regala is actually a son of Gervasio Regala (and Eduviges
Dabu), who is a son of Don Henrrique Regala and Dona Leoncia Montemayor.
Baptismal records for both Don Henrrique Regala and Gervasio Regala have
now been located. This entry now confirms that Venancio Regala is a cousin,
not a brother, of my grandfather, Emiliano Regala, as originally informed
by Alma Vistro's mother, Linda Regala Vistro.
