Finally made it to the top of Mt. Liberty.  The occasion deserved a panoramic 360 degree view!  What beautiful weather, I understand this is not normal for this time of year.  Normal weather is 40 mph winds and fog.
Camp site number two.  Sure was nice to be there after a long hard day of hiking.  We had hiked only 5 miles in 8 hours, but were exhausted because of the soft loose snow on the steep trails.

One of the beauties of winter camping is that there is water wherever you camp.  You just have to melt snow.  Well we spent almost 3 hours melting snow to fill our water bottles and to cook dinner.

Hot water bottles in the sleeping bag goes along way to making a warm night.  It was 14 deg F outside, and 16 deg inside.  We had the tent well ventilated, but we still had frost inside.

Hiking up the shoulder of Haystack mountain.

The peak behind Lee is Liberty Mt.

Keith on the shoulder of Haystack Mt.  Getting close to the tree line the trail really got steep.  We hiked in crampons and the crusty snow was much easier today.
