Ellen is the daughter of Torger T. Bergan, who also has his biography in this book. She was born April 13, 1879, and married Alf J. Lien in 1902. They took a homestead in McLean County, North Dakota, which they sold in 1909. They bought a farm in Trondheim Township, Otter Tail County. They have three children, two boys and a girl. They are prosperous and have a pretty home three miles south of Rothsay, MN. Sigdalslag 1914.
