Seek Ye First �� �� Maggie Knorr �� Family Bible Does your family Bible sit high upon a shelf? Or decorate a coffee table all by itself? Does it have a page of names, dates and lines? Births, deaths and memories recorded throughout time? Who started this custom, I wonder? It turned out to be a colossal blunder. For instead of turning to it in time of need, Or as a guide for every word and deed We jot down family history inside the cover And for advice, turn to another. We wonder what's wrong with society today Truth is, we've allowed ourselves to be led astray. The Bible is God's answer to everyday life The words inside, not just for pain and strife. It's time to take those Bibles down from the shelves Open them, and take them into ourselves. So as we record our family histories inside, Let's make sure God's record in our family history abides Not as a book collecting dust, But living and growing inside each of us. � Brief Autobiography I began writing in first grade. My interest was in fiction. In junior high I began to dabbled in poetry. I realized that my poetry really wasn't very good unless it was from a true inspiration from God. I continued to work on short stories through school. Then for a senior project in college I did a Bible study/lesson series. I discovered the great joy of digging into God's word for myself and producing lessons and essays that shared insights I had gleaned. Now, I am working on a series of booklets on the Christian life for women known as "A Woman's Guide". They will be available individually, or when the series is finished, as a compiled volume.
