7. Thomas Coke ARMITAGE was born in 1837 in The Armitage Farm, Seneca Co, NY. He died on 12 Jul 1878 in Seneca Falls, NY. He served in the military July 24 1862 to about March 9 1865 in Union Infantry from NY. Discharged for disablity as third corporal Co. B, 111 Reg. 25 years old, six feet two inches, dark complexion, blue eyes, black hair. Wounded May 10, 1864 at Poe river VA. Company formed and Thomas munstered in August 20, 1862 Auburn NY. He appears in SF directory 1867/1868 Grocery & crockery dealer 64 Fall St.

He married Helen Amanda SYRON on 2 Dec 1856. Helen Amanda SYRON died on 20 Jan 1894. Aged 58 years,  B. Auten notes, her funeral was at  Trinity Church.

He assisted his uncle James M. in Seneca Falls before his death, and charged $2.00/day. George E. appears in the 1894 Business directory as Dairyman at Clark & Main Seneca Falls.
32 iii. DeWitt Clinton ARMITAGE was born on 3 Aug 1868. He was christened on 21 Dec 1878 in Trinity Church Seneca Falls, NY. Residing in Waterloo, in 1898, 1892-1893 Waterloo business directory, Machinist, bds.Inslee cor. Elisha.
33 iv. Fredrick L. Syron ARMITAGE was born on 29 Jun 1874. He was christened on 21 Dec 1874 in Trinity Church Seneca Falls. Residing at 271 West 11th st. NYC in 1898, 1894 Seneca Falls business directory, machinist, 1892-1893 Waterloo Business Directory, Machinist bds. Inslee cor. Elish.
