Family of Memory Carlisle Little and Anna E. Candler

Memory Carlisle Little served as a soldier in the Banks County (GA) Guards, Confederate States Army during the Civil War. Because of the loss of one eye, which happened prior to the war, he was mustered out of the general military service and made Enrolling Officer in his home community throughout the remainder of the war.

During March, 1868, this family emigrated to Walker County, Ga. where they resided three or four years. They returned to southeastern Georgia and resided at Gainesville for about four years.

Anna E. Candler was a daughter of an attorney, Daniel Edgar Candler, at Gainesville. She was a sister of Govenor Allen Daniel Candler, Newton Candler, and Sallie Candler, a school teacher.

Franklin Co., GA; d. 7 Sept. 7 1876, Gainesville, Hall Co., GA), dau. of Daniel Edgar CANDLER; they had: Oscar Daniel, James Eugene, Edgar Fields, Junious Raymond, Sarah Florence II, Allison Candler.

Memory Carlisle Little m. (2nd) 1876 Sarah CATLIC (b. ?; d. 1882, Mt. Olive Settlement, Saline Co., AR); they had: Lula (b. 1877; d. 1881), Manley(d. 1881), Ollie(b. 1882; m. John Jackson)

Memory Carlisle Little m. (3rd) 1883, Saline Co., AR to Serena ROWLAND (26 May 26, 1850, Saline Co., AR; d. 10 April, 1912, Saline Co., AR); dau. of Alexander ROWLAND and Jane MCPHERSON; they had: Lillie Beatrice, Maggie Wilmott, Pearl, William Byrdine, Clara Alice, Nellie Mona.
