Seattle Micro-Clowder
May 1997

This is the story of how Aunti Micki came to Seattle, and met Ceilidh Flurrydance and saw Skye Silversong inna window, but nefur saw me, Talisker Pippin, who didn't beleeve you could find Aunties onna porch just like inna pooter.

Meowmy told us that Aunti Micki wuz coming to vizit, alla way frum Mew Jersey, and she was reel excited about it. She's only met Momma Jo and Momma Beth (who live wif my winkwink Pandora in Orrygon), and she was reel glad to get the chance to meet anuther aunti in purrrson. But she was afraid that Aunti Micki wouldn't get a chance to meet any of us kitties, because we always hide when strange hoomins come to our house. I figured that was right -- Iknow Ceilidh and Skye have always hidden from strange hoomins, and even though I'm not the best of friends with them, I decided that in this case they were older and wiser and I should listen to them. And besides that, my winkwink Pandora is a wild kitty and she knows lots about hiding and avoiding hoomin tricks, and I want her to be proud of me.. So when Meowmy tried to tell me she'd teach me to walk a hoomin onna string and that way I could go inna Out and meet Aunti Micki when she came, I ran and hid. She wouldn't trick me! She tried several times to get me to take her inna Out onna string, but every time I ran and hid. She couldn't fool me--thuh Out is full of meen cat theefs and I don't want anything to do wif meen cat theefs. Little did I know how tricky Meowmie really is!

After a couple days of trying to get me to take her inna Out onna string, she seemed to give up, and went away inna Out all by herownself. When she came back, she tried one more time to get me to take her inna Out, but I knew something was up, because she opened up a can of our favorite Friskies catfood, and called us all to dinner. But she didn't act like it was really time for dinner. So I went and hid way under the back corner of the couch. But Ceilidh Flurrydance, who really should have known better, couldn't resist that tasty catfood feast. She came to check out the menu, and Meowmie grabbed her and tied her up with that liddle red string she'd been trying to put on me and had Ceilidh take her away to thuh Out! They were gone furever and ever and I stayed way under the back corner of the couch. I was worried that maybe Meowmy had been tricked by a meen cat theef who would steel Ceilidh away from her, but finally Ceilidh came back in -- she smelled like grasses and strange hoomins and wouldn't speak to me at all, except to say it really was Aunti Micki out there. And here are the pikchurs to prove it:

Micki and
Ceilidh

There is Ceilidh, sitting right there on Aunti Micki's lap! Can you believe it? And here's another pikchur, so you can see how Meowmy let Ceilidh take her inna Out onna string:

Sherry and Ceilidh

Behind them you can see thuh liddle church that's right next door to our house. It has a steeple and Meowmy says it looks like a liddle Christmas card church. I don't know if Ceilidh is really happy to be taking Meowmy out onna string -- it looks to me like Meomy is holding her real tight, and Ceilidh doesn't like to be Held in Hoomin Arms, even Meowmy's, so she may be planning how to get away. After Ceilidh came back inna In, Skye went to thuh window and looked between thuh curtains to see if it really was Aunti Micki out there. She says she saw a strange hoomin wif orange hair, and it coulda been Aunti Micki, but she flashed a big bright light right in Skye's face, so she got outta thuh window real quick, and hid. But I guess it really was Aunti Micki, because Meowmy brought us a package full of toys like a liddle black n white fur heart full of nip, and some of Finn'z Spayshullist Nip that she said were prezents from Aunti Micki, and even if a meen cat theef tried to trick us with toys, only a nice aunti would have Finn's Spayshullist Nip.

So I didn't meet Aunti Micki, but Ceilidh did, and Skye saw her and Meowmy said they had a real good time. You can see what a good time they had in this next pikchur. Aunti Micki is squeeling wif delite that she's getting her pikchur taken in the middle of her hotel lobby:

And Meowmy took her to see the troll that lives under theAurora Bridge here in Seattle. He's been crunching that Volkswagon in his hand for years and years, and we don't know for sure what his name is (he won't say it's Josh), but Aunti Micki was furry brave and climbed on toppa him -- as you can see, no troll can fool wif any aunti or unkle frum Thuh Lisssst!

Micki and Troll

So that's the story of Aunti Micki visiting us here in Seattle. She and Meowmy drove around and saw exciting things like that troll, and the campus of the University of Washington Thuh State where Meowmy works, and a sunset over Puget Sound (and Aunti Micki got to help push Meowmy's car out of a parking spot when it got tired and wouldn't go in reverse -- I bet that was her favorite part of the trip!), and they had dinner one night and breakfast one morning and looked at lots and lots of kitty pikchurs and Lisssst pikchurs. And here are our furrry own meowmy and Aunti Micki inna same pikchur:

But Aunti Micki nefur saw me (heeheehee)! --Talisker Pippin

P.S. If you want to see me -- or Skye, or more pikchurs of Ceilidh -- you can find us at our Bitterroot Manor homepage, or read some more of our scrapbook.

P.P.S. Later inna year there was a micro-mini clowder when Aunti Diane came to visit, but she never saw us either (heeheehee)!.
