"The Island Way Of Life" is an often-quoted and much discussed concept in this, Canada's small green province in the Gulf. History and culture define the people of this province. From the beginning, when the Mi'kmaq god created Abegweit as a haven for his people, the Island has held a special place in history. While you may not find a definition in any dictionary, the "way of Islanders and their lives" is clearly expressed in music, local theatre, the arts and Island jokes and stories.
