OUR OTHER VETERANS

On Remembrance Day, we stop and think of all those who served our countries, those who actually fought in war defending their country.  Those who lost their lives.  Yet, there were also many who were not actually involved in combat but were necessary for the survival of our troops.  These men and women also risked their lives.  We also owe a debt of thanks to the many resistance workers who put their own lives at risk while aiding our men and women to escape.  We owe thanks to many who not only risked their own lives but those of their families hiding our men in their own homes to avoid capture.  These people risked their lives every day and if it was not for them many more lives would have been lost during the wars.  So to each of these people we give our love and thanks.

On Remembrance Day, let take a moment to remember the doctors, nurses, first aid works, ambulance drivers and others who risked their lives to aid our soldiers.  They saw the ravenges of war, the amputated limbs, the disfigurements, the pain of death and yet keep going.  They saw the pain and agony our soldiers endured, they felt their pain and the loneliness of being so far away from loved ones when they needed them most.  They not only healed our wounded but gave them comfort, inspiration and the courage to move on with their lives.  So to all of you,  I give thanks and praise for your hard work and the courage to endure all the miseries of war.

A dog as a war hero.  How many of us except for the veterans really considered man's best friend as a war hero, yet, they also gave their lives for our soldiers.  These animals bravely stood beside our soldiers aided them, searching out hidden mines as well as many other duties.  They were also companions, faithful and loving and helped many a soldier who was feeling down.  So let's remember these wonderful animals who also served their country.
