M O T H E R

Your love for me, it knows no bounds
It's given freely from your heart
Your patience always overflows
It calms me down and makes things right
Your arms are always open wide
To embrace me with your warmth & love
Your smiling face and laughing eyes
Reminds me that, you're there for me
Your loving ways and blinding faith
Guides me gently in God's ways.

You've laughed, you've cried, you've soothed me
You've taught me right from wrong
You've sat with me, when I've been ill
Throughout the days and nights, and never did complain
Although I did not listen, I thought I knew it all
You never said I told you so, but always stood by me
You've picked me up, encouraged me, reminded me
To try and try again for failure never wins
Although for you to let me go, hurt deep inside of you
You taught me how to spread my wings
To soar and reach the skies.

I sit here now as memories of my past flash by
All that you have gave to me, the lessons I have learned
I realize now I took advantage, of your love for me
I wish I could repay you, for all you've given me
To take back all the hurt and grief, I never meant togive
To tell you each and every day, how much you mean to me
To hold, to love, to cherish you as you did with me
Because you are the greatest Mom, this world has ever seen
I'll make this promise here and now, just to honour you
My children will be raised exactly as I have been by you
With love, patience, gentle guidance and kindness abounding
And also thaught to love the Lord and walk with him each day.
