A MOTHER'S PRAYER

As I look in his tiny, sweet baby face,
Snuggled so peaceful in blanket and lace,
My joy seems complete, my cup runneth o'er,
But, Father, I'll need thy blessings still

He's pure and good and he knows no sin,
So I'll need thy help in raising him.
I'll need more wisdom than I've ever had,
That I might discern the good from the bad.

More knowlege and patience, grant me from above,
That I might teach him through kindness and love.
And guide his footsteps, where'er they trod,
That he will shun evil, and follow God.

I know in this world temptations are great,
That Satan is striving to alter our fate,
So stay by my side, both day and night,
And help me always to teach what is right.

And bless him, too, as to manhood he grows,
That he'll walk in the paths that the gospel shows.
A light to the world may he always be,
In doing good, and in serving thee.

Thanks for the loan of this precious boy,
Who brings me peace, and comfort and joy.
I'll do my best to raise him just right,
That his return "home" will be a delight.

May celestial glory be his constant aim,
And eternal life his final gain.
Am I wanting too much for this tiny lad--
To have only the good, and know no bad?

I'll strive day and night to fulfill my part,
And teach all these things from a mother's heart.

Oh! how I hope he will understand,
That we must prepare here for the promised land.

When his mission's complete, and his earth life is o'er,
May he walk with thee, on that golden shore.

Then, I'll know without doubt that my joy is complete,
As he takes up his work in that heavenly retreat.

A MOTHER'S PRAYER

Lord, I need your help today.
I want to care for those you've sent into my life,
to help them develop the special gifts
you've given them.

But I also want to free them
to follow their own paths
and to bring their loving wisdom
to the world.

Help me
to embrace them without clutching,
to support them without suffocating,
to correct them without crushing.

And help me
to live joyfully and playfully, myself,
so they can see your life in me
and find their way to you.

Mother's Prayer
.
Dear Father in heaven, I ask for Your touch.
Bless all my family, we need You so much.
Grant us Your wisdom
to choose what is right,
to walk in Your pathways of truth and light.
Strengthen our family
with faith to hold fast,
to cherish and nurture the treasures that last.
Teach us to love, to forgive and to share
in the realms of the spirit,
to thrive and to dare.
But most of all, Lord,
when our journey is through,
bind us together, forever with You.

A Prayer For My Wife

Let us say a prayer that if our lives much change,
and if things are going to seem out of control,
it would be for the right reasons.

If there is to be crying,
let it come from a hungry baby.

Someday we will put medication and surgery
and insurance problems and failure
out of our daily worries.

My Mother's Day wish is that in a year,
when Mother's Day returns,
we will have cause for a truly wonderful celebration.

Until then, may God give you the strength to keep trying
and to not give up hope.
May you find happiness where for so long
you have found despair.
May you find the contentment you so deserve.

A PRAYER FOR MOTHERS

Father in Heaven, hear this prayer,
For all the Mothers everywhere.
Humbly we ask Thee to be near,
Giving them courage, strength and cheer.
Grant that each mother e ' er may be
Zealously living, Lord, for Thee,
Serving Thee gladly every day,
Joyously walking in Thy way.
Watch over every child of Thine,
Tenderly guide with love divine,
Shed Thy dear grace to help and bless,
Bringing glad joy and happiness.
Grant that each child for Mother's sake,
When in the world his way must make,
Ever shall do his Father's will,
Faithful and true to Mother still.
