Chilhowie has supported the Red Bird Mission
in the Appalachian Region of Eastern Kentucky now for several years. This
vital ministry provides, schooling, medical, and other services to the
people in the region.
Red Bird Mission, Inc. Beverly, Kentucky:
This comprehensive mission program provides education for
hundreds of preschool through high school children in a remote area. It
also provides programs for the elderly and economic development.
Associated with the Red Bird Mission is the Red Bird Medical
Center which provides medical services, home health care, a dental clinic,
and ambulance service for low-income residents in this rural Appalachian
region.
Also associated with Red Bird Mission is the Henderson Settlement
in Frakes, Kentucky. The Henderson Settlement provides child care, educational
programs, agricultural and economic development and recreation for disadvantaged
teenagers in the area.
