THE SYNOD OF DORT

Preface to the Index:

Many people today have little or no idea what the Reformation actually brought forth. New believers in "nominally Protestant" denominations for example, are not taught as a rule, that the vote of all the Delegates in attendance at this Synod was Unanimous and it has never been contravened or overruled by any Council of any Protestant Church Council since that time. As an historical note, King James I (of the KJV 1611) sent Delegates to this same Synod and all voted Unanimously as well. [1] Because of that, we have placed this Index here for your ready reference.

Others may also be found that claim to be "Five Pointers" but do not in reality actually support the Reformation teachings. To be a real "Five Pointer" one must believe and teach T.U.L.I.P. Some would deny the "L" or Limited Atonement for exanple.

FOOTNOTES

[1]Luther, Knox, Tyndale, Calvin, the Pilgrims and Puritans who came to America, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, Cotton Mather and countless others too numerous to mention. The Reformers did not seek to bring about a "new church". They only sought to return to the True Teachings of Original Christianity as believed by the One Holy Church directly referred to in the Apostles' Creed, and represented by the First 5 Centuries of the Original Christian Faith. The Original Christian Faith and Teaching that is, before it became infiltrated later by other false teachings which can be seen to be reappearing today. What became known as the "Roman Catholic Church" did not exist as it may be known today, neither were there any "Roman popes" over all the early Church in the early centuries. This is well-known to serious historians who have documented that expert theologians in the early Church never resided in Rome.

The reintroduction of Greek Logic and Philosophy in the Middle Ages under Thomas Aquinas (after both had previously been banned by Pope Urban IV), brought about the introduction of HUMANISM into the Church. Humanistic elements then began to creep into the Gospel and into Church doctrine. These Humanistic elements were based on the philosophy of SOCRATES. Jewish and Kabbalistic roots can also be seen. The basic argument came down to PAUL VS. SOCRATES. These Humanistic elements brought about Gnostic elements and Arminianism as a natural consequence.

The Reformation identified these Humanistic elements that were contrary to Scripture and removed them. Much of the Reformers' teaching was based on Augustine and The Council of Orange

Humanists have not been happy since. In their rage, sometimes they seek to blame it all on "Calvinism". Humanists usually do have somewhat of a problem with truth and origins though. Their argument is not with Calvin, or even Luther. It is with AUGUSTINE of the 5th Century A.D. where the Reformers (including Calvin and Luther) researched, discovered, proclaimed and published the vast majority of the rediscovered Original Doctrines of Christianity. Included here is the Jewish concept. This can be seen clearly by the Dead Sea Scrolls Discoveries. We call the Dead Sea Scrolls "B.C. Calvinism".

We have found that many Protestant denominations do not teach their members that Luther and Calvin were both alive at the same time. Furthermore, Luther read Calvins' works and totally agreed with him on the issues of Predestination, "T" Total Depravity, "U" Unconditional Election, "L" Limited Atonement, "I" Irresistible Grace and "P" Perseverance of the Saints.

These same Five Points of YULIP are found throughout The Westminster Confession of Faith.
