As indicated in the bio information a lot of my family grew up
in Hawaii so naturally I have a great interest in
what is going on out there and have found a couple of WWW pages that
you may find of interest - they include lots of graphics as the Islands
are very photogenic. You might try the page of The Hawaii Visitors'
Bureau - and the page of the
Punahou School (the largest private prep school in the nation).
Another nice Hawaiian WWW site is the The Hawaii InfoWeb
- it may be a little more commercial but it is interesting. For one
that is really commercial try The Campus Bookstore
of the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. This site includes a couple of links to
a site (RainBowTique) where typical college merchandise may be purchased (either in the
Islands or via e-mail) and a site specializing in computers and computer equipment.
And, finally, there is Albert the Panther's home page. I don't know Panther but
I have been reading his posts to the USENET group alt.culture.hawaii
for the past several years - sometimes witty, sometimes caustic,
sometimes with tongue in cheek (I think) and even sometimes serious. Panther
has put together what is essentially a
Hawaiian Hotlist - the most complete page of links to Web sites
in and about Hawaii that I have come across.
