Corsicana Fire Department

These shots were taken at a structure fire that occurred on August 29, 1998. The webmaster wishes to apologize for the fact that these photos are not from some of our department's more recent incidents. Hopefully, interest will be generated from my efforts and more updated material will be made available for the brotherhood and fire buffs alike! This incident happened on one of "A" Shift's tours of duty. The structure was rental property located at 2002 West 2nd Avenue. Although just a few blocks away from station 3, the first-in engine company's initial size-up conveyed information that the structure had heavy involvement to sectors one and four.
Incident Commander Lt. James Batson's (center pic) first strategy was to attempt an interior attack. Aware that the fire had already gained a significant foothold with obvious vertical extension to the attic, forces were withdrawn and a defensive mode of operation was implemented. The structure sustained heavy damage from fire and fire control efforts.
