Twin Pineapple hearts sachet
(Original design by Daphne Mah - 1998)

Materials used :   
- Tulip hook 1/0 (1.6mm)  
- Minlon Poly - yellow (Size 10 Thread)   
- 1/4" width satin ribbon  - red
- scented potpourri (wrapped in scraps of cloth material)   

Instruction :   
Basic piece : make 2 pieces as follow  :
Row 1 : Ch4, dc into 4th ch from hook.  Into same st, work (2ch, 2dc)  - {1 'starting shell' made}  
            Into same st, work (2ch, 1dc) twice, ch2, work another 'shell' into same st, turn.  
Row 2 : Sl st to 1st 2ch-sp of shell, work 1 shell into same sp, ch2, sk next 2ch-sp.  
            Into next 2ch-sp, work 9dc, ch2, work shell into shell-sp, turn.   
Row 3 : Sl st to 1st shell-sp, shell in shell-sp.  Ch2, sk 2ch-sp, dc into next dc..   
            Work (1ch, 1dc) into each of 8 dc,  ch2, shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 4 : *Sl st to 1st shell-sp, shell in shell-sp,  ch2 *   
            Sc into next sp, work (3ch, sc) in each of next 7 sp, ch2.   Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 5 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Sk next 2ch-sp, sc into next 3ch-sp.  
            Work (3ch, sc) into each of next 6 3ch-sp.  Shell in shell sp, turn.  
Row 6 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Work (3ch, sc) into each of next 5 sp.  Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 7 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Work (3ch, sc) into each of next 4 sp.  Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 8 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Work (3ch, sc) into each of next 3 sp.  Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 9 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Work (3ch, sc) into each of next 2 sp.  Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 10 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Work (3ch, sc) into next sp.  Shell in shell-sp, turn.  
Row 11 : Repeat from * to * of row 4.  Ch2, into next shell sp, work 2dc, 1ch, remove hook from loop,   
              insert hook into sp of 1st shell just made and draw dropped loop through, ch1, 2dc into same sp  
              as last 2dc, turn.  
Row 12 : Ch6, sl st into last dc of next shell to join.  Fasten and break off yarn.  Weave in loose ends.  

To make up :  
Place both pieces wrong sides together.  Weave in ribbon through the 2ch-loops along shells.   
Tie bow at beginning top of sachet.  

Smaller pineapple (make 2 pieces)  
Work as basic piece but instead of 9dc in the 2nd row, work only 6dc and decrease rows accordingly.  
Make up as basic sachet.  

To string both sachets together :  
Using a reasonable length of ribbon, fold into half and insert into top hole of big sachet and bring the two  
ends into 'fold' of ribbon and pull until a knot forms.   

Using another piece of ribbon, fold into half and insert into top hole of small sachet (from behind)  
and bring the two ends into 'fold' of ribbon.  Insert the ends into 'bottom' of big sachet (6ch-loop of row 12)   
from front and bring it back down into 'fold' of ribbon again from the back and then, split the two ends and  
insert each through the small sachet to come out of each side of the 6ch-loop of smaller sachet from the  
back.  (Refer to picture of sachet above)  

Note :   
Shell  
-work (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) in same st or space  

Size of the above pattern can be adjusted by adjusting the numbers of dc in the 2nd row.
