Picot
A picot is formed with free ch sts
Work a single crochet in the foundation,
ch3 (or 4, depending on length of picot desired)
sl st (or sc) in top of sc made.

  Rib stitch
This is sometimes called the slipper stitch
Work this same as single crochet (sc) but insert hook in back loop of stitch only.

 Reverse single crochet (Reverse sc)
To edge-trim borders (hem, neckline, etc) working from left to right
Working from left to right, insert hook in st to right of hook, yo, draw though,
under and to left of loop on hook (2 lps on hook), yo, draw through both lps on hook.

Loop stitch
Fancy single crochet, worked exactly like sc but with one minor exception, loop is formed at back of work.
Insert hook in next st, wrap yarn around index finger twice,
insert hook through both loops on finger in direction of arrow,
draw through st, remove finger from loop, yo and draw though all 3 loops
