Daphne's "Red Hot" Slingbag

 Daphne's "Red Hot" Slingbag 
   
 Materials used :     
 - Hook F5 
 - Minlon Craft - Red Hot (1 ball) 
  
* No gauge given b'coz these bags can be crocheted to your own prefered size using your prefered yarns.   

 Note : Be sure to have a multiple of 7 stitches (per motif) if you need to enlarge the size of your bag.   
            Instruction here is for 8 'shell' motifs repeats (total stitches for  8 motifs : 7 x 8 = 56 sts)   

 Instruction :     
 Rnd 1 : Ch22, 2sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1sc each into next 19chs, 3sc into last ch. 
             Working on the other side of ch,  1sc each into next 19chs, 1sc into last st  
             (same st where 2sc were made at the beginning of work), sl st to 1st ch to join (44sc)   
 Rnd 2 : Ch2, hdc into same st, 2hdc into next st, 1 hdc each into next 19sts,  
             work (2hdc each into next st) 3 times, 1hdc each into next 19sts, 2hdc into last st, 
             sl st to 2nd ch to join (50sts) 
 Rnd 3 : Ch1, 1sc into each st around, sl st to 1st sc to join. (50sc) 
 Rnd 4 : Ch2, hdc into same st, hdc into next st, 2 hdc into next st, 1 hdc each into next 20sts, 
             work (2hdc into next st, hdc into next st) 3 times, 1hdc each into next 19sts,  
             2hdc into next st, 1hdc into last st, sl st  to 2nd ch to join. (56sts) 
 Rnd 5 : Working in back loops only, ch2, 1hdc into each back loop around, sl st to 2nd ch to join. 
 Rnd 6 : Working in both loops, ch2, 1hdc into each st around, sl st to 2nd ch to join.  

 Beginning of motif rounds : 
 Rnd 7 : Sl st to next st, ch3, dc into next st, *sk 2sts.  Into next st, work (2dc, 2ch, 2dc)[1 shell made] 
            sk 2sts, 1dc each into next 2sts.  Repeat from * around, sl st to 3rd ch to join. 
 Rnd 8 & 9 : FPsc into same st, ch2 [1 beginning FPdc made], FPdc into next st, **1shell into sp of  
                   next shell, FPdc each into next 2sts.  Repeat from ** around, sl st to 2nd ch to join. 
 Rnd 10 : Work as Rnd 8 but shell is made by working (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) 
 Rnd 11 & 12 : Work as Rnd 8 but shell is made by working (3dc, 2ch, 3dc) 
 Rnd 13 & 14 : Work as Rnd 8 but shell is made by working (3dc, 3ch, 3dc) 
 Rnd 15 & 16 : Work as Rnd 8 but shell is made by working (4dc, 3ch, 4dc) 
 Rnd 17 : Ch1, sc into same st, ***ch3, sc into 2nd dc of next shell, ch3, sk 1 st, sc into next st,  
              ch3, sc into sp of same shell, ch3, sc into next st, ch3, sk 1st, sc into next st, ch3, sk1 st, 
              sc into next st.  Repeat from *** around.  Sl st to 1st sc to join. 

 Flower 
 Ch4, sl st to 1st ch to form ring. 
 Rnd 1 : Ch1, 6sc into ring, sl st to 1st sc to join. 
 Rnd 2 : Ch3, into same st,  work 2-dc puff, ch3, sl st to same st. (1 petal  formed) 
             Work (sc into next st, ch3, 2-dc puff into same st, ch3, sl st to same st) 5 times. 
             Sl st to 1st ch to join.  Fasten & break off yarn.  Weave in loose end. 

 Make 1 Pullstring cord and minimum 1 meter for shoulder sling cord  (adjust to your required length) 

 Finishing :     
 Weave in pullstring cord behind FPdc of Rnd 15, both ends coming out between the 2FPdc at 
 middle, front of bag.  Insert both ends into middle hole of flower (this is use as 'stopper' for pullstring) 
 Tie knot / bow to 'close' opening of bag.  Ends of cord can be decorated with wooden bead balls. 
 Tie ends of shoulder sling cord at both side, top of bag or adjust to required length. 

 Stitches used : 
 FPsc : Front Post single crochet 
 FPdc : Front Post double crochet 
 2-dc puff : 2-double crochet puff
