This Hugh was connected with John McMillan, who organized the Peoples Society. He moved to Co. Antrim (Rasharkin) before Hugh was born. (?): One genealogy thinks her name was Mable Crawford, b. 1724 in Ireland.

Learning of the Rocky Creek settlement, went there and sent for families whom they met at Charleston.

Martin fleet, ship Hopewell, and awarded 100 acres, meaning he had no dependants. Might account for his being in a different location than brother Alexander, since land wasn't awarded by family groups, and he apparently got his in Kershaw District.
