John died Oct 23, 1916, Cedarville, Greene Co., OH. Samuel & Martha Stormont family came from County Antrim, Ireland, where the Stormonts settled in the 1600s, coming form Scotland (Covenanters). They owned large estates around Belfast, where the Houses of Parliment are on part of what was the estate. An ancient hereditary jursidiction in Perthshire, Scotland, was vacated in 1621, and Sir David Murray, Lord of Scone, was elevated to the title of "Lord Stormont", receiving the lands. Article in Robinson's History of Greene Co. written before James was born.
