Here are some add-ons I use and find especially helpful:

Cosmos: This handy little program will install a bunch of add-ons, all customizable through an in-game menu.

New HitsMode: An Add-On by our very own Tiffani! This add-on mimics the EQ1 /hitsmode command. It is probably the most configurable add-on I have ever seen! EVERYONE should check it out!

All in one Inventory (AIOI): This mod will get rid of the need for remembering what you put in each bag. It puts EVERYTHING into one giant bag.

[Guillotine's Choice]

Alpha Map: This will add a semi-transparent map over your main screen while playing. It can be easily toggled with a bound key. Perhaps the most useful of all.

Atlas: An extremely easy to use add-on that is especially useful for higher level characters. It adds an in-game instance map browser with pointers showing all of the important places (most of them anyway).

Cool-down Count: Another great mod, this mod will display visible numbers over all abilities that are not ready yet showing how long until they are ready. Great for just about everyone.

Mini-pet Leash: I am sure many of you are like me and have a non-combat pet (I love my mechanical squirrel :D) but always forget to summon it. This add-on is a bit hard to configure but will always summon your non-combat pet when you go through an instance, get off of a gryphon, log in, ect.

Mobs2Level: This is an extremely handy mod that will estimate how many of a specific type of mob you need to kill for your next level. "Let's say, you kill one Yeti, it will show in your chat text : You need 38 Yetis until level up." It does not include quest/exploration xp but it still works very well

Zoom Map: This will zoom your mini map up to cover just about the whole screen. Great for a close up look at where you are.
