Courses for potential brides and potential grooms are becoming more and more popular.
Seek out a course that is close to your own philosophy or hashkafa and join that course. Take it. It is worth it and you will learn a lot from it.
Be sure to get recommendations from others so that you know that the course is proper for your own needs and philosophy of life and make sure that the person who offers the course knows how to teach things in a good proper and sensitive manner.
It's worth finding the right teacher and when you have found the right teacher it is worth taking that course. Go for it.
You may think that you are an expert or that you know enough about issues already.
You don't.
Even if you think you know enough (and you're wrong) you certainly don't know enough about the Jewish aspects of these issues.
You might have a friend or relative who you think knows about these things and you might ask him for advice. There is no reason not to, but the greatest advice from one who is not a professional in this area can't compare. This is something that you need to invest your time, effort, and energy in doing so that it can be done right and so that you can learn it the proper way.
