(A friend of mine reckons that if i'm going to put Lyrics on the Internet then, i should write a short explanation of what they mean!
So... just for him and whoever cares here goes.)

No 1. The police of the world.

(This song is about how injustice goes on unchallanged in poorer countries.
Nobody really does anything to stop what would be unheard of in our part of the World.
Then you ask yourself if we did have the power (America,UN). Would we have the right?
The song is a question NOT a statement. Discuss)

Verse1.
On C.N.N.
More death again.
Riot's out of hand.
In a foreign land.
They call the army out.
In the streets they shout.
We want democracy.
We don't want to do what you say.

Chorus.
Should we have a police of the world.
Should we overthrow nations, cause they like to abort their girls.
Should we have a police of the world.
And inflict our justice on others with the use of our guns until they learn.

Verse2.
He's an Iron fist.
And he won't stand for this.
Who do they think they are.
Send in the armed cars.
On the news at ten.
He puts them down again.
Quick turn off the T.V.
Cause you won’t like what you’ll see.

Chorus.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 2. A blueprint for living.

(This song is very much a follow-on to "The Police".
The way i see it Mankind can basically beat anything it sets it's Mind to,
yet we as a people have no goals. In a war each side has a definitive goal and from this we see great advancements.
Shouldn't we give ourselfs big Goals like like Whiping out Hunger, War, Homelessness, Child labour, ect?
We could do it if we wanted. We just don't know how that's why we need a...)

Verse1
On the sea board.
At a small port.
On a clear bright day, in the summer on July 4th.
There's a dark spot.
Up in the sky.
And when it drops, they know they’re gonna die.
There's a bright light.
And a loud bang.
And in ten minutes flat, there's sixteen  ships sank
Still the world turns.
Though the sea burns.
Just one more lesson, that we just don't learn.

Chorus
And I... Dream of a time.
When all of this is just a rhyme.
When the blood, dirt and grime.
Is in the past that we have left behind.
And I... Dream of a time.                        We don't vote for. The people who create war.
When all of this is just a rhyme.                  A blueprint for living. And something to live for.
When the blood, dirt and grime.                  We don't vote for. The people who create war.
Is in the past that we have left behind.          A blueprint for living. And something to live for.
Now.

Verse2
In a dark room.
sits some white men.
Who can wipe out thousand’s with a stroke of their pen.
But we trust them.
com-pleat-ly.
Well maybe, it's just a little in reality.
So we work hard.
Watch the days pass.
And sometimes bitch about the plans for a bypass.
And when they tax us.
What little we get.
I'd rather that then being gassed by my government.

Chorus.

Mid 8.
And ya tell me, don’t worry.
It all takes so long that there aint no hurry.
Just sit back, drink a six pack.
A day will come an it’ll all be on track.

And ya tell me, don’t worry.
It all takes so long that there ain’t no hurry.
Just sit back, drink a six pack.
Cause when you get drunk it won’t look so black.
chorus.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 3. The way it is.

(This is very personal. We are a 3 chord punk band. We don't think we're ever going to be BIG TIME.
The Truth is... only a select few people GET Punk music & that's really the why we like it.
We play Gigs cause it's Fun. If someone doesn't like it, Fuck em we're having a laff. That simple.)

Verse1.
You say I can't really play.
Well here's the news I don't care what a you say.
Then you say I can't sing.
And though it's true, I don't care what a you think.

Verse2.
You say it all sounds the same.
You say just noise like the engine's of a jet plane.
So right it off as all shit.
Don't bother me cause I don't you to like this.

Chorus.
I'm not looking for fame and for great wealth.
I just play cause I like it for myself.
I don't view this as a great career choice.
Cause all I've got is an old guitar and shit voice.

Verse1.
Verse2.
ChorusX2.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 4. Hateful.

(Simple... This song is about the Negitive people who you will tend to meet from time to time as you go through your life & not letting anybody drag you down.)
Verse1.
They act so hateful;  Ignorant self obsessed, obtuse and ungrateful.
They like to bully;   Anything weaker, but they won't get to me.
They love to tear down;  What you believe and what you care about.
You'll have to face down;  Some negative stuff about the way you live now.

Chorus.
And now, what we have here, Is a regime that's been built on fear and I...
Don't think it should be ignored.
And now, what we have here is an ignorant mind that's been pickled with beer and I...
Don't think I want to hear anymore.

Verse2.
Our lives are changing;  And the way we perceive it is re-a-rearranging.
A new day's dawning;   Even communist state are now re-forming.
I see what's right now;   And I don't feel a need to run with the wrong crowd.
And I won't be dragged down; In to a pit of shit that would keep my head bowed.

Chorus.
Mid 8.
Verse1.
Chorusx2.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 5. Freedom.

Verse1
I walk around this old place. Nothing ever happens here, year after year.
I buy a boat ticket to sail away and here them say “you’ll be back in a day” I say “no fucking way”.

Chorus x2
I get some cash and buy a van. An old one and just hit the roads.
Making cash along the way at the parties and festivals.

Verse2
There’s nothing better then dancing around. With the sounds really loud, in the middle of a crowd.
Faces lit up, by the sound of the thumping bass. So many around, your heart starts to pound.

Mid 8
But the laser lights, in the sky.
Alert the pigs, as they drive by.
The sirens sound, disperse the crowd.
Whatever happened to the freedom of the land?

Chorus.
End.
(Noni 99)

No 6. Led by the blind.

Verse1.
We don’t want wars.
But we create more.
Where are we heading.
What path we treading

Will a day ever come when we open our eyes.
When we see what we have done and we all realize.
Will we look deep inside and then maybe we’ll find.
That it’s all just been a case of being led by the blind.

Like a spiining top.
Always gets tripped up.
What do we face now.
What is the race now.

I’ve been thinking of all the things I hear them say.
And I’ve been looking at pictures of our world today.
And I’ve been hopeing that some things will be made to change.
But what can I do when I don’t have any in-flu-ence.
That’s just a cop you know you can do something.
What do ya think I am some powerful politician?
Other people do things and they’re in the same position.
I’d like to help out but I’m really far too busy.
Then close your eyes and mind and pretend all things are pretty.
Then I’ve no voice at all and that really freaks me out.
Then do what I do just get into a band and shout.

I see things must change.

And all the things that I dislike.
Are held up in the broad day light.
Are focused clear and in my sight.
For me to see and for me to fight.

End.
(Seán 99)

No 7. Is there…( life before death?)

Verse1
It drives me mad cause she treat's him like a king.
And the way he treat's her makes me wanna thump him.
He's a big, thick, shit who thinks he's her master.
She a vision of beauty and I’d just love to ask her.

Pre chorus
Whhhhhhhhhhy. She act's like life's got for her no other role.
Then to hang around the house making food for his cake hole.
A living doormat with out any ambition.
to give her something to do is his life's only mission.
Some time's it gets too much and she cry’s.
Cause she knows she'll be living this life till she die's.
She'd love to be brave, pack her bags and leave him.
But she hasn’t got the guts, she’d be afraid of the freedom.

Chorus
To him and his mates she’s the trouble and strife.
In her head she knows she's just an unhappy house wife.
She believes in astrology and life after death.
Cause then she might get a chance at a happy life yet.

Verse2
He’s out in town with his mates on the brew.
Then she’s up cooking for him though it’s half past two.
So many things in life she’d love to see.
But she never ever will, can anybody tell me.

Chorus.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 8. My own private legoland.

Verse1
Walkround in circles, get lost in confusion,
though I’ve lived here for years.
I wonder around looking for the solution,
And that view of the piers.
They’ve got ten foot high walls to stop any intrusion,
So exclusive are we.
And it’s all been layed out like some sort of illusion,
Swear I’ll just never see.

Chorus1.
Why do they build them at all,
With their big poxy walls
and their houses that look like a brick.
And they all look the same.
And they’re so fucking plain and there’s no room for any craftmanship.
So they cut down the trees to build small towns up the fields.
And then bitch about parking and cars.
The towns all clogged up now,
And all the roads that all lead down,
cause there’s more fucking shops up on Mars.

Verse2.
Move down from the city cause here it’s so pretty,
But it won’t be for long.
When the Garden of Ireland been swallowed by Dublin,
All its beauty is gone.
We won’t mix with the locals cause they’re just not highbrow,
And aren’t loaded like us.
And if any of them make a shortcut through our land,
Call the pigs make a fuss.

Chorus2.
Why do they build them at all,
With their big poxy walls
and their houses that look like a brick.
And they all look the same.
And they’re so fucking plain and there’s no room for any craftmanship.
So the prices get pushed up.
The locals get pushed out.
And the celtic tiger eats the town.
You can’t talk to the guys in the shops anymore
Cause there’s no fucking locals around.

I HATE HOUSEING ESTATES.
I HATE HOUSEING ESTATES.
I HATE HOUSEING ESTATES.
I HATE HOUSEING ESTATES.
End.
(Seán 99)

No 9. Jim (Bleak end).

Verse1.
Jim was skink and down on his luck.
Had nowhere to live but didn’t give a fuck.
Still he ate food fit for a king.
An it all came out of  Sainsburys bin

Went through life day by day.
Nowhere to live. Nowhere to stay.
Begging on the street his only pay .
Try not to think about the following day.

Chorus.
Went through life day by day.
Nowhere to live. Nowhere to stay.
Begging on the street his only pay .
Try not to think about the following day.

Verse 2.
Moving on from sqwat to sqwat.
Ill from damp and dry rot.
Lived he life day by day.
With people like him with nothing much to say.
All his posesions in a carryer bag.
He'd steal and blag for brew and skag.
Life to him was one big joke.
Only really happy when he had some coke.

Bridge.
One day he made a big mistake.
A drug O D he couldn't take.
Sweating shaking losing breath
Three days of pain it took to his death.
Sweating shaking losing breath
Three days of pain it took to his... Death.
End.
(Noni 97)

No 10. That’s progress.

Verse1
That’s progress. Well that’s what they say anyway when they break their backs.
It’s all needed. And if you speak out against it then you must be mad.
So trust us. Keeping our jobs is the furthest thing from our mind.
Just let us carry on with what we do and we’re sure you’ll find.

Chorus1
That there’s a big difference between cruelty and research.
Well I don’t see it and I doubt, that most of it even works.

Cause what we’ve got now is aids.
Decease’s and plagues.
Abola that eats you inside out.
Cancer of the throat and mouth.

And new shampoo, easier to wash away.
And new lip balm and creams to keep you looking great.

Verse2
Have you noticed that nothing big has changed in fifty years.
How often have you used cloned tissue and a mouse to grow yourself a new ear.
And where is, the pill to stop you getting fat or growing old?
And where is, our ability to realise bullshit when you’re told?

Chorus2
That there’s a big difference between cruelty and research.
Well I don’t see it and I doubt, that most of it even works.

Cause what we’ve got now is aids.
Decease’s and plagues.
Abola that eats you inside out.
Cancer of the throat and mouth.

And new shampoo, easier to wash away.
And new lip balm and creams to keep you looking great.
And a whole industry that’s built apon lies and disgrace.
And the torture and imprisonment of other creatures cause they’re a different race.
End.
(Seán 2000)

No 11. A Deserters song.

Verse1
There’s only one more reason why-------
I up and leaving,
And throw this all away.
I looked down deep and really tried--------
But what I’ve been seeing,
Is getting in the way.
It’s getting dark and I decide----------
That there’s no other,
Course that I can change.
Now in the daylight I must hide-------
Lurk in the shadows,
And try to fade away.

Chorus
Cause I believe that what you’re doing here is wrong.
Here’s a message being brought to you in song.
Somehow justice has a way of coming round.
And you’re going down.

Verse2
He said just do as you are told-------
And never question,
Anything he says.
You’ve been trained to be a cog--------
So keep on turning,
And we dictate the way.
Forgetting all that I have learned---------
Is not so easy,
Cause I’ve still got a brain.
I know the value of a life---------
And that ain’t changing,
No matter what you say.

Chorus
End.
(Seán 2000)

No 12. Wooooo is me.

Verse1
Things don’t turn out like I planned.
Chances slip right through my hand.
Oh, wooooooooo is me.
No luck with relationships.
People I meet are all selfish shits.
Oh, wooooooooo is me.
The second I go outside it rains.
I always end up missing trains.
Oh, wooooooooo is me.
The queue I picked is standing still.
Bet I get to the front and they bust the till
Oh, wooooooooo is me.

Chorus
People say the I, should try to realise
All the good things I’ve got.
But in my eyes, it’s more fun to scrutinise
All the things that I have not.

Think I was neglected as a kid.
You say I had it all, I don’t think I did.
Oh, wooooooooo is me.

Mid 8th
Everytime i pick a door it's the wrong one.
I never get the seat that the suns on.
They've always just closed when i get to the shops.
It's always just left when i get to the bus stop.
And i ---------
Think i deserve better.
Cause i've--------
Worked my hands till they're leather.
And i --------
Think they're messing with my head.
And i --------
Sometimes wish i was dead...

Chorus
End.
(Seán 2000)

The freak shows what?

Verse1.
There's a endless parade of freaks on the Springer show.
(Bloated pigs who are barly human.)
And where they come from, i don't know.
(Shit maybe they're my next door neighbours.)
Mullet haircut whitethrash with no front teeth.
(I fathered my dads new girlfriends baby.)
Is this really a reflection... Of our society.

Chorus1.
Don't want to see my life on a tacky TV show.
Ripped apart to entertain millions who sit and glote.
Is there anyway that such a display could help in hardtimes cope.
All i know is if my girlfriend asked there's no way in hell i'd go.

Verse2.
So you've got to ask yourself what makes them appear.
(They appear to me to be inbred mutants.)
Such screwed up lifestyles, could they really be sincere?
(Spose there's weird stuff on the road that i live too.)
Or actors playing a roll to entertain.
(I hate when they cut the fighting.)
The reason why we're watching is... We have no brains!

Chorus2.
Don't want to see my life on a tacky TV show.
Ripped apart to entertain millions who sit and glote.
Is there anyway that such a display could help in hardtimes cope.
All i know is if my girlfriend asked there's no way in hell i'd go.
So who's the bad guys the guests or the execs?
The marketing men or the writers who pen the thrash we digest.
TV and music gone the same way, The dumbest crap gets aired.
Maybe we could try to change this trend if we cared.

PlayOut.
End.
(Seán 2000)

No 13. Never said?

Verse 1.
Yeah it’s cold outside, but you know me and windows.
Just leave them open wide and let the breeze blow through.
I love to hear the sound of the Wind and the rain so.
Pull up to my side and I’ll warm up you.
In the dark I love to feel you’re here.
I love to feel you’re near.
Come on give us one of you’re rare smiles.
Come on and try. Just for a little while.

Verse 2.
And then so quick around another Monday morning.
Another week to spend without you here.
Don’t go back to sleep cause the day is dawning.
I want to tell you something I can’t bare.
Is the fact that you never ever explain.
If you do or don’t feel the same.
Hang around here never saying a word.
Ah shit I sound like a nerd.
Guess it’s what I deserve.

Playout.
End.
(Seán 2000)
