Why Blaise and Ginny?it's a question every ship has been asked; i suppose it's time we gave our answerDark Fallen Angel (Offical Slytherin Girl Seductress) Why? OK, here comes my essay everyone ::evil grin:: (Be very scared...I've been practicing once every hour, each day at school for a week now, but I'm being forced to by from my teachers!) As everyone knows, or as I should say, very little, Blaise is a hush hush character, and doesn't have a large role or any events really in the books by Rowling. Same as Ginny. So that leaves us up to our imagination to create a realistic person that we think would be Blaise. We can shape the personality, and mold it even! Same as Ginny, though not as much. So why not Blaise, and Ginny, if they're both small characters, and also, Rowling wont throw many B/G stories off since they have little importance compared to Harry, Hermione, or Ron, and Ginny is such a small character? So why not a small character, and another small character? Now I'm into D/G, don't get me wrong, along with many other ships, but think also like this: how in the world is Draco going to get together with Ginny, really? Because Ginny sees Draco try to commit suicide, and suddenly feels pity for the enemy that has harrassed her, and her family for decades? And there's more, Lord knows, there's more stories along those lines! But I'm not here to discuss D/G, but my point is, Blaise, and Ginny make so much more sense to be together than lots of Ginny/Whoever ships. Besides, Ginny could be used in Rowlings books or in a fanfiction story that shows the trio, and others, that Slytherin isn't so evil. Deirdre Blair (Ship's Captain) With the personality that Blaise has in my mind, I believe they're perfect matches for each other. Every fault of Ginny's is Blaise's strength and vise-versa. So little is known about these characters so we can, as it's been said before, mold them into our own little versions of who we want them to be. It's like two original characters who already have some background. Faxton (Official Keeper of All Things Chaotic) Hm... I think the question to ask is why not Blaise and Ginny? As it's been pointed out they are both minor characters to the series and we don't know all that much about them. They can both be molded (Blaise especially) into the characters we want them to be and give them the faults and attributes that make them perfect to work together. Unlike other characters, that have already developed characters (that are rarely stuck with in fanfiction), neither of these two really have that. They're both perfect to blend and give them angst, romance, drama, love and lust - you can practically do anything with them. And I mean, come on ... who else is perfect for Ginny other than Blaise? hasapi (Morale Officer and Ship's Counselor) As Faxton said, "Why not?" Ginny isn't someone we know very much about, despite her increased role in the fifth book. She probably isn't quite as prejudiced against Slytherins as her brother, if only because she's more open-minded about things in general (this probably came from her being the youngest of seven, not to mention being rather close to Fred and George). As for Blaise... Well, J.K. Rowling only mentioned Blaise once, at the Sorting ceremony in the first book (unless, of course, I missed it somewhere). We don't even know what sex Blaise is. All we know is that Blaise Zabini is a Slytherin, and what does that really tell us? Obviously, Blaise is nowhere near as antagonistic as Draco, Pansy, Millicent, Crabbe, or Goyle--which, actually, tells us something. If Blaise isn't one of those who comes right out and says something, there must be a reason for it. Maybe Blaise isn't as prejudiced as his housemates--which leaves room for a possible romance with a Gryffindor. So why not Ginny Weasley? Ruby Flame (Second Mate) Just because they're a good idea. As others pointed out, we don't know much about their characters. Who's to say that B/G won't find each other interesting/attracting/what have you... When I wrote my fic 'Ugly Ducklings', I thought the Blaise/Ginny pairing would be a good one because it's different and unexpected. |
