Philip is in his room and picks up the picture of he/Chloe at the first Last Blast Dance. He looks at it and says, �Chloe Baby, I�m so sorry I�ve hurt you so badly, but I promise I�m gonna make it up to you. I�m gonna win you back, without lying/manipulating like Brady has been doing. If he thinks I�m gonna give up on the woman I love more than life itself, he�s got another thing coming�. He thinks that just because the two of you share the love of Opera and both of you are �different� and appear to have a lot in �common� that he knows you better than I do. But I know the �real Chloe Lane Wesley�, and I�m gonna prove that you/I have a lot more in common than you think. I love you Chloe, and I'm gonna fight for you�.

He holds their picture next to his heart and says, �Brady wants a fight! Well he�s gonna get one. Brady is no good and has loyalty to no one. This is all a game to him and I�m not gonna stand by and allow him to hurt Chloe because of it�. He sets the picture down on his nightstand then lies down on his bed thinking about what he�ll do tomorrow. After a while he finally falls asleep. .

Chloe has gotten ready for bed and can�t sleep. She has tears in her eyes and is having flashbacks of Philip taking her glasses off at the pier and telling her how beautiful her eyes were. Then burying the little bird, their very first Last Blast Dance, the Ice Canal and him telling her he loved her. She remembers the stables and almost making love to him, then their palm-palm symbol of their love for one another. Then the riverbank where he carved P & C 4 EVER in their tree with a heart around it. But what sticks out most in her mind is the Last Blast Dance this year.

Tears are running down her face and she picks up their picture of the first Last Blast Dance and looks at it and says, �Why didn�t you trust me Philip? Why didn�t you believe in me? How could you call me those names�? I know you were lashing out at me to hurt me as much as you thought I�d hurt you but you don't trust me. That only means one thing�you don�t really love me. Why can�t I tell you I love you with all of my heart? What�s wrong with me�? She places the picture back down on her nightstand then lies down and cries herself to sleep.

Chloe is up in her room getting ready for her first day of school and thinks: This is gonna be really tough seeing Philip and not being with him. Not being able to have him hold me in his arms, and tell me how much he loves me. How am I ever gonna get over him when I�ll be seeing him every day at school as well as having classes with him�?

Brady shows up at the Wesley�s in his Jeep and rings the doorbell. Nancy answers and says, �Brady! Was Chloe expecting you this morning�? He says, �No Mrs. Wesley. I just thought I�d surprise her and drive her to school instead of her having to walk�. Nancy says, �How sweet you are Brady. I�ll go upstairs and get her�. So she heads upstairs and Craig comes into the room.

He says, �Brady! What a pleasant surprise. I guess you�re here to drive Chloe to school, huh�? He says, �Yeah. I figured since we�re just friends I�d drive her to school instead of her walking and having to run into Philip. Phil really needs to back off, you know? Chloe needs space and he�s just not willing to give it to her�. Craig places his hand on Brady�s shoulder and says, �Brady, thanks for being a really good friend to my daughter. You really care about her, don�t you�? Brady is uncomfortable and says, �Of course I do! I care about all of my friends and family.�.

Chloe sadly comes down the stairs and says, �Brady, what are you doing here�? He says, �I couldn�t let you walk to school on your first day, and I was going that way anyway. So what do you say? Can I drop you off this morning�? She says, �I guess it�s all right. Let me just get my purse and backpack�. She does then they head out the door.

Brady opens the door and she hops in. As they�re driving he says, �Well, what have you decided about Phil? You know, I hate to say I told you so, but yours/Phil�s relationship just wasn�t in the cards. It was doomed even before it started�. She has a sad look on her face and he says, �But don�t worry Chloe. I�m your friend and I�ll be here for you through it all, all right�? She says, �Thanks Brady. You really are my friend, aren�t you�? He says, �Definitely Chloe�.

Brady pulls up in the circular drive then gets out of the Jeep and opens the door for her. He says, �Well Chloe. Have a good day and I�ll keep in touch. You know where to reach me if you need me�. She says, �Thanks Brady�. He leaves but sees Philip drive up in his new BMW. Philip parks then gets out of his car and presses the remote to lock it.

Chloe turns around to see who it is and they just look at one another for a few minutes. Then Philip runs up to her and says, �I know you don�t want to talk to me and I don�t blame you. I�ve been a total jerk, so I just wanted to let you know that I�ll always love you no matter what. I�ll always be your friend even though you�ve chosen Brady. Take care and if you ever need me, you know how to reach me. I�ll always love you Chloe�. He leaves.

She�s thinking: He�s just giving up on our relationship. He�s never done that. He always tries to do something to get me to take him back. Maybe he doesn�t love me as much as he says he does. Maybe he�s just found someone new now that school has started back up. I wonder who this new girlfriend of his is? Chloe Lane Wesley, you�ve got to forget about Philip Kiriakis. Our relationship will never work out. It�s doomed just like Brady says. I�ve got to focus on school and my grades, then think about going to Julliard. I�ve got to stop thinking about Philip every minute of the day. I can�t love him�I just can�t�.

Belle sees Chloe standing in the hall and in a daze then says, �Chloe Lane Wesley, we�re gonna be late to first period if we don�t get our act together. By the way Chloe, did you know we have almost every class with Philip and Shawn, except P.E. of course�? She says, �No I didn�t�. The bell rings and they make it into the classroom just in time to be seated.

Chloe looks over at Philip when she thinks he�s not looking and sees that he�s sitting in back of Cynthia. Cynthia turns around and is flirting with him. Philip isn�t really paying attention to Cynthia but she continues flirting with him. Then Mr. Woods says, �Cynthia, I know Philip is better looking than I am, but can you please turn around and participate in the class. You can talk to Philip in between classes, on your lunch break, or after school. She looks at Philip and says, �I plan on doing just that now that he�s a free man�.

Chloe is trying not to show it but her face says it all. The green-eyed monster has finally struck the beautiful Miss Chloe Lane Wesley. She sees red but quickly pulls herself together for appearances sake. Philip is having a hard time seeing the pain in her eyes because he knows she still loves him. He knows she�s hurt by this and wants to be with him again, but is just afraid. Cynthia keeps turning around and he just blows her off. The other girls in the room are also trying to get his attention because they�ve heard about he/Chloe�s break-up, but Philip doesn�t pay attention to them.

The bell rings and everyone heads out of the classroom but Philip. He stays after class to talk to Mr. Woods. Chloe is out in the hall and just stands there watching him, wondering what he�s doing. She can�t fight her desire to be near him, even if she has to see him from afar. This is better than never seeing him again. That�s something she can�t bear.

She hears him say, �Thanks Mr. Woods. I�m planning on getting straight A�s in every class this year. I�ve got to make the honor roll, then get into a really good college to make my Dad proud of me�. Mr. Woods says, �I�m sure your Dad is already proud of you Philip�. Philip smiles then says, �Thanks Mr. Woods. I�ll see you around�. He turns around and Chloe quickly goes to her next period which is P.E.

Philip also has P.E. next and has to dress out for football practice. The guys are out on the field in full uniforms and the girls are out on the field doing their exercises. Philip can�t help but look over to see Chloe stretching. He�s not paying attention to what�s going on on the football field, and his coach, Mr. Thompson says, �Kiriakis, I think you need to stop looking at the beautiful ladies and pay attention to what�s going on here. Why don�t you take a couple of laps around the track. It�ll do you good�.

Philip runs around the track one time, and the girls are all staring at him and commenting on how �HOT� he is and how Chloe must be totally crazy to let him get away. Cynthia says, �Well Chloe, you had your chance with him, and you blew it. He�s fair game, and I plan on snagging him for myself. MMM�I�ve had dreams about what I�d like to do to him and his body. He�s not only the son of a billionaire, but is the best- looking, most popular guy at Salem High. And now�he�s all mine�.

Chloe�s blood is boiling but she keeps it inside. Philip runs around the track one more time and they give one another those longing looks and stares.

Philip smiles then runs on by. Chloe�s heart skips a beat, and she�s thinking: Why is he doing this to me? Why is he so happy all of a sudden? There�s got to be some other girl. That�s why he�s given up on our relationship and just wants to be my �friend�. But he says he loves me and always will�and I can see it in his eyes when he looks at me. I�m so confused. I don�t know what to think any more�.

Cynthia says, �Oh�my heart just skipped a beat! Did you see the way the �K-man� smiled at me? MMM�he just gave me all the proof I need that he�s over you Chloe, and wants to move on with me�. Chloe is very angry but laughs and says, �In your dreams Cynthia. When your name is mentioned you know what comes to mind to everyone in school? She says, �Hot, beautiful�. Chloe says, �Newsflash Cynthia: easy piece of as*, back seat, slut, tramp, STD�s. Philip, Shawn, Kevin, and a few other guys are the only ones you haven�t slept with�. Cynthia says, �Very funny Chloe. Philip is still mine�. Belle says, �Come on Chloe. Let�s go get showered and ready for lunch. Let�s go to .Com, all right�? Chloe smiles and says, �That sounds good to me�. So they shower, get ready, and head over to .Com.

Philip is in the locker room getting ready for lunch and Shawn walks up. Philip says, �Shawn, what�s up with your spending so much time with Jan�? Shawn says, �She�s just a friend, Phil. She�s having problems and has nobody to talk to. Anyway, it�s really none of your business�. Philip says, �You and Belle are my friends, and after everything we went through on that island I�d think you�d be spending all of your free time with her. I know the two of you love each other. I can see it in your eyes when you look at one another. I have to tell you Shawn, if you continue seeing Jan, Belle is gonna move on with some other guy�.

Shawn puts his hand on Philip�s shoulder and says, �Phil, I hate to say this but who are you to be giving other�s advice? Word is that it�s over between you and Chloe�. Philip says, �I�m not gonna get into this with you, but just know that I love Chloe with all of my heart, and will be there for her �no matter what. I�ll just be happy if she allows me to be her �friend�. Shawn says, �Whoa Phil! Is there another girl, or something�? Philip says, �No Man. I�ve just come to the realization that I�ve got some issues that need to be dealt with. I�ve gotta go�. Shawn has a really confused look on his face and says, �All right Man. See you later�.

Belle and Chloe are now at .Com. Chloe is eating a veggie burger and has a strawberry milkshake, and Belle has a cheeseburger, fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Belle says, �So Chloe, what�s going on with you and Brady�? Chloe says, �You know, I wish people would quit asking me that. I keep telling everyone that we are �just friends�. He�s kind of an outcast like I am and he really needs a friend right now�. Belle says, �Well I hate to admit it but when Philip accused you of having feelings for Brady and vice versa I said �No way�. But I was sooo wrong. I see the way you and Brady look at one another. I think Brady has feelings for you and is just hiding them�. Chloe says, �I think you�re wrong Belle. We�re just friends, as far as I�m concerned�.

Belle says, �Whatever, Chloe. Look! Philip is headed our way�. Chloe turns around and they can�t take their eyes off of one another. They are in a trance, but Philip comes out of it and says, �Hey Chloe. How�s it going beautiful�? She says, �OK�. He turns to Belle and says, �And Belle, you�re looking quite beautiful today. Meems tells me you�ve been looking for me. What�s up�? Belle says, �Chloe, will you excuse us? I need to talk to Philip alone�. Chloe has a puzzled look on her face, but says, �Sure�.

Belle takes Philip by the hand and they go over in the corner. Belle says, �Philip, you are one of my best friends, and I was wondering if you could tell me what�s up with Shawn and Jan. Every time I bring it up he gets this weird look on his face, and I know he�s hiding something from me. Do you think he�s fallen for Jan and doesn�t love me anymore�? Philip takes her hand in his and says, �Belle, I know that Shawn loves you. He says that Jan is just a friend and is having problems and has nobody to turn to. The problem is that he knows you�ll always be there for him, so he�s kind of taken you for granted. Not meaning to, but he has. Maybe you need to give him some space and get on with your life�.

In the meantime, Chloe is watching their every move and is thinking: My God! He�s in love with Belle. He�s always had a thing for her, but he fell in love with her on that island. What is wrong with me? Why didn�t I see it before? I see it in his eyes when he looks at her. No wonder he�s given up on our relationship. He doesn�t love me any more�. She sees Belle kiss Philip on the cheek and her heart feels like it�s been broken in a million pieces. She�s thinking: How could I have been so stupid? Thinking someone as good-looking and popular as Philip Kiriakis could love someone like me�! I�ve got to get out of here�.

She walks over to Belle and Philip then says, �Belle, I�ve gotta go. I need to talk to my Mr. Simpson before class. I�ll see the two of you later�. Belle says, �All right Chloe. See ya�. Philip smiles then says, �See you around beautiful�. Belle says, �Philip, I think Chloe still loves you despite her telling you it�s over. She keeps telling me that as far as she�s concerned, she/Brady are just friends. She says he is an outcast like she is and he just needs a friend right now. But I can see the way they look at one another and I think she sees Brady as a friend, and Brady wants more than that. I can tell by the way he�s been acting that he wants to be more than friends with Chloe�.

Philip says, �Belle, all I have to say is that I�ve known all along that Brady wants Chloe. I can tell by the way he looks at her. You�re one of my very best friends, Belle and I want you to keep what I�m about to tell you a secret between the two of us, all right�? Belle says, �I promise I won�t say a word�. He says, �Well, it�s no secret that I love Chloe more than life itself. But I�ve been doing a lot of thinking, and realized that I�ve got some issues that need to be dealt with before I can be with anyone. Anyway, I�ve been a total jerk, and have hurt Chloe badly because she thinks I don�t trust her. She thinks if I don�t trust her, I must not love her because I don�t accept/approve of her�.

I think she�s been putting me through a �test� to see how much I really love her. She needs to know that no matter what happens, she can count on me to be there for her. She needs my friendship, trust, love, and to know that I�m in this relationship for the long haul. Once she has that, she�ll be able to trust in our love/relationship and finally be able to tell me those three words I so desperately want/need to hear. I�ve failed that test miserably because of my anger/ jealousy, so now I�ve got to prove to her just how much she means to me by putting my faith and trust in her. She needs to know that I love her "unconditionally" and will always be there for her.

I�ve already told her that I will always love her even though she�s chosen Brady, and that I�ll be there for her no matter what. I�ll always be her �friend�. So now I�m backing off and allowing her the space she needs and am going to allow her to come to me. She�ll have the choice of whether or not she wants to be just friends with me or if she wants more. Anyway, I know you won�t tell Brady any of this because I trust you. I won�t go into what Brady is doing to Chloe but all I know is that even though I love Chloe with all of my heart, I�m not gonna force her to love me. All I want is for her to be happy, and if that means she�s happy with someone else, then I�ll have to accept it and love her enough to let her go. It�ll break my heart, but I�ll have to do it for Chloe�.

Belle has tears in her eyes and says, �Philip, I wish Chloe could hear what you just told me. You really do love her with all of your heart and soul. I sure wish Shawn felt that way about me�. Philip says, �But he does, Belle. He just needs some space just like Chloe does. Trust me, if he thinks there�s a chance he�s gonna lose you, he�ll do everything in his power to get you back. So hang in there and I�ll always be here for ya�. We�re friends, right�? She says, �You�ve got that right Philip, friends forever�. He smiles then says, �Well, I�ve gotta go, so I�ll see ya� later�. She says, �See ya��!

Chloe has been outside watching them and sees Philip heading her way so she quickly hides behind the bushes. He�s whistling and she�s thinking: Well, that proves it. He�s moved on with Belle. It looks like Shawn has moved on with Jan, and since Belle and Philip were together the whole summer, they�ve become close and have fallen in love�. Tears are running down her face and she�s thinking: Accept it Chloe. He doesn�t love you or want you any more. Move on with your life. But you can�t move on with your life. You love Philip with your whole heart�why can�t you tell him how you feel? Maybe if you told him he�ll come back to you. I�ve got to get back to my next class. I can�t let anyone see me like this�. She leaves and heads to her music class.

Philip walks down the corridor heading for his next class and notices that Mr. Woods is free so he goes inside and says, �Mr. Woods, do you have a couple of minutes�? He says, �Sure I do Philip. You look troubled, what can I do for you�? He says, �Well, I know you�re gonna say that I should see a shrink for my problem, especially since my Father is so wealthy but�he hesitates and Mr. Woods says, �Philip, tell me what the problem is first before you go jumping to conclusions�. Philip says, �I�ve got this anger and jealousy problem that I need help with. My life is gonna go nowhere until I deal with it�. Mr. Woods says, �Well, I�m no shrink but am a good listener, and if you feel comfortable talking to me about all of this, then I�m willing to listen�. Philip says, �Thanks Mr. Woods, I knew I could count on you�.

Chloe walks by and sees Philip talking to Mr. Woods and hears her name being mentioned but the warning bell rings and Mr. Woods says, �Philip, come talk to me tomorrow on your lunch break. I�ll be in my room for the entire hour, all right�? Philip says, �Thanks Mr. Woods. You�re the best�. Chloe sees that he�s coming her way and quickly goes over to her locker. Philip�s locker is right next to hers, and he looks into her eyes and says, �Sorry, I had no idea I�d end up with a locker next to yours. If you want me to, I�ll go to the office and have them give me another one. I�ve hurt you enough and certainly don�t want to do anything else to cause you any more pain�.

She�s in a trance and her heart skips a beat. She�s really nervous and is feeling like she did when she saw him for the first time. He says, �Chloe, are you all right�? She drops her books, then quickly gets down on her knees trying to pick them up. He puts his things in his locker then gets down on one knee and grabs some papers, then they look in each other�s eyes and he smiles and says, �Here you go�. She says, �Thanks. And you don�t have to get another locker�. He says, �All right then, I�ll see you around�. She doesn�t say anything so he leaves.

This day has finally come to an end, and Chloe heads out the door. She sees Philip standing by his car talking to Belle. She�s really jealous and is thinking: I�m the one that�s supposed to be with him..I�m the only one that understands him and loves him for who he is and not for what he has. I�m the one that wants to spend the rest of my life with him. Why can�t I tell him I love him? Why does he want Belle? What can she give Philip that I can�t? What�s wrong with you Chloe? You�re not �normal� and Belle is. That�s why he wants her. She�s the most popular girl in school, and she�s �perfect�. She�s not �weird� like you are�.

Philip starts to leave and looks her way. He sees that she�s hurt so he says, �Belle, I�ll see you tomorrow. Don�t worry, Shawn will come around�. Belle says, �See you tomorrow Philip�. He says, �Bye Belle�. He drives off and Chloe makes sure Belle doesn�t see her. She�s on her way home and Philip pulls up beside her, then rolls his window down and says, �Would you like a ride home? I promise I won�t make you talk to me, and I won�t talk at all unless you want to talk to me. I just want to make sure you get home safely. I�ll drop you off and be on my way�.

Chloe can�t resist him and gets in the car with him. She doesn�t say a word, and Philip doesn�t either until he stops in front of her house. He looks into her eyes and says, �Well Chloe, take care and I�ll see you around�. She�s having a hard time fighting her desire to tell him how much she loves him and wants him back into her life. BUT, she says, �Thanks for the ride Philip. I�ll see you tomorrow�. He smiles and says, �All right beautiful�. He leaves.

Nancy says, �Chloe, how was your first day of school�? Chloe says, �It was fine. I have a lot of homework, so don�t expect me to come down for dinner�. Nancy says, �But..but Chloe Baby�. Chloe says, �Please Nancy, I need some space right now, all right�? Nancy says, �All right sweetheart�.

Chloe throws her books and backpack down, and lies down on her bed. Tears are running down her face and she�s thinking: I remember when you told me, �If you were jealous, I�d think you cared about me�. Well, now I�m experiencing jealousy and if I didn�t love you so much it wouldn�t bother me to see you with Belle. Maybe she/Philip are only �friends�. Maybe he really does love me. Why does loving you have to hurt so bad Philip. Why can�t I tell you how much I love you? You know why Chloe. You�re afraid something will happen to him if you tell him. If something happens to him because he loves me/I love him I couldn�t live with myself. If he were to die..my life would mean nothing. What should I do? Should I push him away protecting him from harm, or should I take a chance on our love/relationship? I�ve got to get out of here and I know just where to go�. She quietly goes down the stairs and slips out the door. She runs to a phone booth and calls a taxi.

Philip is in his room and throws his books down. He�s thinking: Chloe loves me and is so afraid to tell me. It�s so hard to see her in pain. How am I ever gonna stay away from her. She needs her space, but needs to know that I love her no matter what. All I wanted to do was take her in my arms and tell her everything�s gonna be all right. I wanted to tell her how much I love her and how sorry I was for hurting her the way I did. If she only knew that Brady�s the one I don�t trust. I�ve got to get out of here�. He runs down the stairs and hears Victor talking to someone. He hides behind the door and hears Brady�s voice.

Brady says, �Well Grandpa, it seems our plan is working. Chloe wants nothing more to do with Philip. All I have to do is tell her that her relationship with Philip is doomed, and that Philip doesn�t understand her the way I do, and she�s like putty in my hands. She really believes that if she continues seeing Philip that he�s going to leave her. Her worst fear is that he�ll die on her like her Foster parents did leaving her with a broken heart. She�s deeply in love with Philip and as long as I continue telling her that their relationship is doomed, she�ll push him away. And as long as Philip keeps pursuing her, and is jealous of me, she�ll think he doesn�t trust her, so that means he doesn�t love her. If she starts to push me away, I act angry with her and like I don�t care, knowing that she�ll feel rejected/unloved and she�ll do anything to get me back. I tell her we�re just �friends� knowing that she�ll stay with me because if she gets too emotionally attached to me, she�ll push me away just like she�s done to Philip. I should teach a course�I�d call it, �Manipulation 101�.

Philip�s blood is boiling and all he wants to do is go in there and beat Brady to a pulp. But he holds it in and decides he wants to hear what his Father has to say about this. Victor says, �Brady, I want you to stop this immediately. I only wanted you to keep Chloe from Philip because I thought she was a bad influence on him. I had no idea you were this ruthless, and could manipulate her so easily and take pride in what you�re doing to her. I�m ashamed of you and especially of myself for allowing this to happen�.

Brady can�t believe what he�s hearing. He starts to leave and Victor says, �You�re not running away. You�re going to stand here and listen to what I have to say, young man�. Brady is angry but stands there and listens. Victor says, �Since Philip nearly died, I�ve come to realize that both Kate/I have hurt him deeply. He has a lot of emotional scars that haven�t healed. Chloe is the �one person� he was able to turn to when his world was crumbling around him. Then everyone around him turned on him. He�s changed for the better because of his love for Chloe, and her love for him. He�s no longer as angry as he was. And had all of us left them alone, they would�ve been able to work things out�.

Victor continues saying, �But NO! We�re selfish and only thinking about ourselves, never once thinking about how much pain Philip is in. It�s because of Chloe that Philip is still with us. His love for her/hers for him is what made him come back to us. I�m sure of it. I won�t stand in Philip�s way any longer. If he wants to be with Chloe, I�ll welcome her with open arms. I know that Kate will do the same. Our Son�s happiness means everything to us. I�m going to come clean with Philip about my involvement in all of this, and I suggest you do the same�. Brady says, �Am I excused now Grandpa�? Victor says, �Get out of here. I wonder if they made a mistake when they said that Isabella was your Mother. She�d never do anything like this to anyone�. Brady is furious and storms out the door. He gets in his Jeep then leaves. Philip feels betrayed, is hurt, and angry. He has tears in his eyes but knows he needs to get out of there. So he slips out the door, then hops in his car and leaves.

Philip has been driving around for a while, and decides he needs to go somewhere where he can be totally alone, and a place that makes him feel good and he can calm down. He ends up at the riverbank. He parks the car and sees a taxi waiting for someone. He walks over to the driver and says, �Who are you waiting for�? He says, �A beautiful young woman said she needed to be alone, and she�d be out in about 20 minutes, but she hasn�t come back yet�. Philip says, �I know who she is, and I�ll take care of her from here on out. How much does she owe you�? He says, �Give me a $20.00 bill and we�ll call it even�. Philip does then heads down to the riverbank.
