March for ParksWillard Hutt, Executive Director of the Association for the Education and Preservation of African-American History, will be leading AEPAH's 2000 March for Parks event. March for Parks is America's largest annual Earth Day event, created to raise money for parks across the United States. There will be a walkathon and tour of African-American
sites in Washington, D.C. The tour will be conducted by the Executive Director of the
Association for the Education and Preservation of African-American History. Funds
collected will benefit the Washington,
D.C. Black History National Recreational Trail. Brochures exploring the African-American History of
Washington, D.C. will be provided. The walkathon will last approximately two hours and
will conclude at Dumbarton Oaks cemetery. Hikers can either walk the trail back to
the Frederick Douglass Home or catch a van back to the Frederick Douglass Home. If you live in another city and cannot make it to Washington, D.C. to participate, tax-deductible pledges and donations can be made directly to the Association for the Education and Preservation of African-American History.
