James -

I told you I'd write. Sorry it had taken thyis long so far. You're working on number 5 right now right? Ive gotten number 3 & 4 from you and inclosed should be a copy of "Don't send me flowers" to share w/ Alyson it's my last copy. I was trying to find a common link between the back ground pages but they seemed to be designs with real light images. I couldnt make out what they were.

It is really difficult to not have a judgement on a zine writer who includes stories of sexual violence against women and interviews with racists when the publisher's own view is not put straight forward. It'd also confusing having such stories with women power images. It would make things easier on you, it seems, (as far as hate mail goes) to clarify your own beliefs to the reader so we do not lable you as a power house for racist/anti-women reading material.

Another thing that's often annoying for the reader is cutting stories in half I understand youd want to do it - but often times its just confusing and hard to find the last issue to remember the story and attempt to read the font again. But as far as the story you did it to, "sion's story," it's fine and in my opinion should never had been printed. I won't apologize for that sounding harsh because it made me have nightmares for 3 nights because abuse it real and does hurt - a disclaimer would have helped. Or maybe I've been in the pacific northwest for too long and need disclaimers for everything bad. I like unhappy endings - just not my own.

For being a person who loves cut and paste layout - I must say - your computer layout works pretty well, easy to read most the time.

A comment on your lobster story - I must say that tearing in to an animal like that seems to be the best thing for people these days. I spent my weekends growing up on a farm. If I couldn't kill, gut, clean and eat the fish I could I didnt get dinner. So many people don't understand that hamburgers were once cows and not just from the hamburger tree. I learned a lot playing with dead ducks and gutting rabbits - but then again - look how I turned out. Anyway enough of that. Take care and I'll talk with you later.
