Hi kiddoes!
This is James again, writing what is the editorial for a transitory issue of NeuFutur. No, there will be no major change in the scope or style of the magazine, but in the frequency of it. Changing the frequency of the magazine from once a month to once every two months will do a duet of things : first, it will give me a little more time to get pieces together, and it will also increase the quality of the work.
Issue 7 also heralds in some interesting developments for NeuFutur. You should have gotten a mini-comic with this issue, which was done by my sister. She is a 15 year old freshman, and has been promoted to the Assistant Editorship of Comic Affairs. Provided she has enough time during the school year, she will be doing more mini-comics, cartoons, and comic reviews, and I hope to bring them all to you.
Also, I am glad to report that I have talked everything out with Adam, the owner of http://www.unscenezine.com. He is giving me space on his domain for some ad space, both in real life and on the site. We don't have everything completely worked out yet, but by the time Issue 8 comes out, we will have everything smoothed out.
I also purchased http://www.neufutur.com to make the way to my site a lot easier than it has been in the past. This also marks (hopefully) the last move of the site, which has been about three years in the making. I still remember those halcyon days in early 1999 when I just started the site. It was at http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stage/5375, and then yahoo merged with geocities, knocking it down to http://www.geocities.com/Drakulon666. I later found the redirect service for me, cjb.net, and was able to personalize the site's name more, to http://www.neufutur.cjb.net .
Please don't take this as a commercialization of the magazine. I still focus on the independent media, left-wing politics, and other issues that concern you, the reader. That will never change. Have fun with this issue, and make sure to pick up issue 8 when it comes out, in early October. It will be a total exploration of the zine scene, and has as its cornerstone a Top 100 list a la Zine Guide. I still am taking submissions for that, so if you have an opinion for the list, send me a top ten at the e-mail contact listed.
