EQUESTRIAN 2003-2004
Michele Koury, owner of Valley Ridge Farm, Inc., founded the WVU Equestrian Team in 1983. During her years as a member of the IHSA, she has been responsible for major changes in the region 8 system pertaining to the treatment of the horses, length of the shows, and safety of the competitors.
Michele spent time with the New Canaan Mounted Troop where she received 10 years of preparation at a teaching equine school, a 4-year apprenticeship, and Graduate with Certificate. Her organizational skills honed and sharpened as she served as highest ranking officer, a liason between 200 students and Board of Directors.
Michele's riding background includes showing Junior Hunter Equitation Medal McClay US Equestrian Team Jumpers. She has trained with many professionals, such as Victor Hugo-Vidal, Ronnie Mutch, Wayne Carrol, Bertlyn deNemethy (coach of USET for 22 years), and Jeff Cook.
