In this frame from the Zapruder film (specially enhanced by Picture Picture), King Friday, Mrs. Kennedy, and Governor Connally react to the sound of the first shot. As soon as he recognized the sound as gunfire, the cowardly Friday dove for cover underneath the front seat. The path of his scramble to safety brought the President and the Governor into the line of fire. The subsequent tragedy is, of course, now history. Especially in light of the new evidence presented on these pages, a growing number of experts agree that the intended target of the assassination may have been Friday rather than Kennedy.
