Hot Summer Nights, August 14.

Tour of Brookside, August 9.

Young and Restless, August 8.

Hot Summer Nights, August 7.

Young and Restless, August 1.

Master's National Track Championships, July. Our own Tim Robison and Doug Robinson ventured west to Seatle, WA for this national event. Tim finished on the podium in the sprints taking 4th in his age-group. While Doug did not place in the event, he continued to shave seconds off his 4K pursuit time.

Hot Summer Nights, July 30.

Young and Restless, July 25. After recovering from illness the night before, Greg Wood won the masters tempo race. He was helped by Don Rogers who gave him a lead out at just the right time. Greg said it was almost as if he had telepathically let Don know he needed a lead out. This was Don's first Masters race night. He also raced Cat 4. Also racing this night were Craig Tuttle and Dave Sunshine. This was Dave's first night racing at Major Taylor. Way to go!

Hot Summer Nights, July 24. Matt Skelton did well in his debut as a 2 this evening. He placed second in the 1-2-pro tempo race after taking 6 sprints. Doug Robinson worked his usual magic in the points race to place. Darren 'Dilly Bar' Reno provided good team work. In the women's field, Linda Kohout took 2nd in the tempo race. She also narrowly missed winning the Danish by sprinting off the front with 1 1/2 laps to go.

Hot Summer Nights, July 17. Several members raced this evening. Linda Kohout took 4th in the women's snowball. Matt Skelton placed 4th in the combined 1-2-3 points race and looked great! He upgraded to a 2 at the end of the night. Darren Reno also made a great showing again in the men's points race. Tim Robison also had a good effort.

Lite up the NITE Ride, July 11. This annual event was a profitable one for the blue and orange with nearly all team members going home with money. Performances of note include Tim Robison's 1st place finish in the Master's scratch race and Dottie Wood's 2nd place finish in the women's scratch race. Greg Wood gave Tim a lead out in the Master's scratch race that resulted in the win. Darren Reno made a great showing in the Cat 1-2 field taking money in the points race. Linda Kohout also raced in the women's field; she gave the field a shake up that helped Dottie go on to 2nd in the scratch race. And, last but not least, Craig Tuttle made his debut at Major Taylor Velodrome. He raced in both the Cat 4 and Master's fields. We look forward to seeing him there again.

Major Taylor Night, July 10. Linda Kohout and Tim Robison were the only two team members burning up the track this evening. Tim teamed up with Cory 'Stretch' Taylor of the Bean Team in the Madison to place 5th. They made a good showing, but I think that Tim's strength may lead to Cory having uneven arm lengths! Linda did well in the Women's points race finishing with 7 points. This included being off the front for 3 laps, long enough to win one of the sprints! She's feeling pretty good about the performance. Those of you not in attendance also missed an evening of antique bicycle racing. There were some pretty impressive showings by bikes with wooden rims and high wheelers!

Columbus Challenge Criterium, July 5. The blue and orange were at it again this day. Jim Ciszweski raced Citizens class and had this to say about the experience "...I came in 9th out of 10. Not World Class results, but I'm getting better every race!" Isn't that the reason we do this? In the C race (cat 3) we had 5 entrants. Tim Robison took 7th place to finish in the money. Other team members in the race were Doug Robinson, Greg Wood, Don Rogers, and Tim 'Road Rash' Konrad. Dottie Wood and Linda Kohout raced in the women's field; the pace was fast and furious with both women feeling lucky that they finished the race.

July 4th Fiesta. A great time was had by all in this new event. The Pedal Power kids made a good showing. In team news, Doug Robinson took 4th in the 1-2 points race and Matt Skelton took 2nd in the 3's race. In the Women's race, Dottie Wood took 4th in the points race. The BGI/Trane Team pursuit narrowly missed beating the Bean Team in the finals to place 2nd. Way to go, Doug, Matt, Al Sempf, and Darren Reno. Tim Robison, Tim Konrad, Greg Wood, and Linda Kohout also raced.

Columbus Criterium, July 4th. Craig Tuttle ventured south to participate in the Master's field. The pace was fast. He didn't admit where he finished. Jim Ciszweski was in the Citizen's race and finished 8th out of 10 entrants.

Hoosier State Games Criterium at the State Fairgrounds, June 28. There was a huge contingent of BGI/Trane members at this event. In the Women's race, Dottie Wood took 4th after being off the front for several laps with the eventual race winners. Linda Kohout posted a good showing. Jim Ciszweski took on the citizen's category. In the C/D field (USCF III/IV equivalent), Doug Robinson took 6th place and Tim Robison won a preem of 2 Pacer tickets. Josh Muething, Matt Skelton, and Greg Wood get kudos for working for and with teammates to chase down attacks and blocking so that Doug to go off the front. Also in the race were Tim Konrad and Don Rogers. Way to go, everyone!

Hot Summer Nights, June 26, Major Taylor Velodrome. Can you say, "I'm meltling?" As usual, Team BGI/Trane was the biggest team in attendance with 8 members in blue and orange. The heat may have been nasty, but we had a few people who survived the heat to place in the money. Doug Robinson continued his streak of luck on the points race and finished 2 laps up and fourth place. Dottie Wood continued to shine as she took 4th in the tempo race.

Some of Craig Tuttle's Results. Craig placed 5th in the Ft. Wayne Crit, in the 45+ race. Unfortunately, one of the Hand Team riders crashed into the curb and broke, repectively, ribs, collarbone, hip plus a concussion. Surgery was required. He also attended the Lafayette Road Race in the 35+ group, but won't talk about his results.

National 24-Hour Challenge, June 20-21, Grand Rapids, MI. Debbie Judge teamed up with Lori Shick (unattached) to take the crown in the Women's tandem division. Way to go, gals! They put in 201 miles.

Hot Summer Nights, June 19, Major Taylor Velodrome. Again, the Blue and Orange was well represented for this Friday night event. 7 team members raced. Dottie Wood and Doug Robinson were among the evening's top finishers. Also in attendance were Tim Robison, Darren Reno, Linda Kohout, Greg Wood, and Josh Muething.

Hot Summer Nights/Young and Restless Racing, June 13, Major Taylor Velodrome. The blue and orange was well respresented for this combined evening of racing. Of the 30 or so total competitors, 9 of them were our teammates! Several members took home prize money including Tim Robison (1st in Master's Scratch), Doug Robinson (1st Master's Points, 3rd P-1-2 Elimination), Greg Wood (2nd Master's Danish), and Dottie Wood (2nd Women's Tempo). And congratuations to Don Rogers on his first night racing at the Velodrome. He placed 2nd in the Cat 5 Points Race. Additional competitors were Darren Reno, Linda Kohout, Tim Konrad, and Josh Muething.

Lafayette Wheel Warriors Criterium, June 7: Six team members ventured north for this criterium. I'm happy to report that Doug Robinson had a 10th place finish in the 30+ race.

EDS Track Cup Round 2, May 29-31, Indianapolis: We had 5 team members participate in this event. Not as much rain as in LA, but the heat was a killer. Darrin Reno and Doug Robinson held on to finish the points race heats. Tim had a personal best 200m TT of 11.75, an improvement of .25 seconds! Doug, Darrin, Roger Bowersock, and Al Shempf teamed up in the Team Pursuit. An unfortunate mechanical kept them from having a chance to show what they could do. Tim and Josh Muething braved the Keirin and emerged unscathed from battle. Personally, I think this is a feat in itself. And, finally, Doug improved his pursuit time from LA to 5:16, similar to his time at this time last year. Don't forget to check out the photos.

Morrow Road Race, March 29: Jeff "Right Way" Noffsinger placed 7th in the Category 1-2-3 race. The race was held near Cincinnati. Jeff managed to get into an 8-man break away for 50 miles when half the pack took a wrong turn on the first lap.

Shakamak/Governor's Cup Series: Doug Robinson and Tim Robison travelled to this event. Rumor has it that Tim took 12th in his race. Doug finished but wouldn't admit his placing. Rumor also has it that a deer ran through one of the veterans races taking out several riders. Luckily no one in blue and orange was involved. This was also Jim Ciszweski's first race, congrats to you, too!

12 Hour Challenge in Ohio, May 3: Our own Debbie Judge teamed up with Don Hughes (unattached) to take second place in the tandem category. They put in over 160 miles despite cold and rainy conditions. More details to follow.

Purdue Critirium, April 11: More or less on a whim, Doug Robinson and Tim Robison competed in the 1-2-3 race. They could have done better, but had ridden 40 or so miles with the team in the morning. We lost them at some point on our team training camp! I guess the EDS Track Cup really gave them the itch to race.

EDS Track Cup, Round 1: Doug Robinson, Darren Reno, Tim Robison, and Roger Bowersock went to LA for the first round of the 1998 EDS Track Cup. No one was among the top finishers, but several met their goals. They all agreed it was worth the trip. They are all ahead of the game in terms of getting in shape for the season at Major Taylor. Doug said that he can't wait for Round 2 on our own home turf! Photos to follow that will make the blue and orange and our sponsors proud. (Doug, when are you going to develop your film?)

Bike Wave ‘Cross - O - Rama’, January 18, 1998: Two team members represented the blue and orange in this final race of the series. Roger Bowersock placed 4th in the Cat 3 race to take 3rd overall. Check out these photos. Linda Kohout also raced.
