He is the only man in professional sports to play in both the World Series (Atlanta Braves 1992) and the Super Bowl (San Francisco and Dallas 1994-95)...Became the first two-way starter in the NFL since the Eagles Chuck Bednarik who retired in 1962...Has been selected to five Pro Bowls while collecting 34 career interceptions and 15 regular season touchdowns...His career interception return average is 25.3 yards per return.

1996

For the first 11 games of the season, Sanders was a regular at both cornerback and wide receiver, becoming the NFL's first two-way player in over 30 years...He ended the season with 45 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense, and 36 receptions for 475 yards on offense.

1995

Once again, Deion's incredible pass coverage skills shut down receivers all year, earning him an All-Pro selection by the Sporting News and second-team All-NFC by the UPI.

1994

The 1994 NFL Defensive Player of the Year...He finished the season with 37 tackles and 15 passes defensed, including six interceptions...Also tied Ronnie Lott's 1981 single-season team record of three interception returns for scores, as Deion had touchdown returns of 74, 90 and 93 yards.

1993

A Pro Bowl starter...Sanders led the NFC with seven interceptions and was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.

1992

Sanders was the NFL leader in Pro Bowl balloting at both cornerback and as a kickoff returner...He led the NFL with a 26.7 yard kickoff return average and 1,067 yards.

1991

a Pro Bowl starter following the 1991 season...He recorded six interceptions, returning one 55 yards for a touchdown.

1990

His 82-yard interception return for a touchdown was the longest touchdown play in the NFL in 1990.

1989

Returned his first career interception 68 yards for a score...That touchdown established him as the only athlete in modern history to score an NFL touchdown and hit a major league home run in the same week, as he blasted a home run for the New York Yankees five days prior to his first NFL game.

College Highlights

A two-time all-America at Florida State...Sanders was awarded the Jim Thorpe Award as a senior...Set school records with 287 career interception return yards (14 interceptions) and 1,429 punt return yards...He was a member of the Seminoles' College World Series baseball team as a center fielder and a track and field standout as well...Once, he played in the first game of a baseball tournament, went over to the track to run a leg on the 4x100 relay squad in his baseball pants, then returned to the diamond to slap the game-winning hit in the Seminoles' second game of the day.

Personal

Starred at North Fort Meyers High School where as a senior he passed for 839 yards and rushed for 499 as a left-handed option quarterback...Earned all-state honors in football, basketball (24ppg) and baseball..He had a debut album called "Prime Time" that was on the R&B charts for several months...He has two children, daughter Diondra, and son, Deion Luwynn Jr.
