Zen in Kenpo
In het door Ed parker geschreven boek "The Zen of Kenpo", met als subtitel :
"Meaningful quotes from the teachings of Ed parker", heeft de auteur zijn jarenlange overwegingen als citaten (gezegdes) aan het papier toevertrouwd. Het boek wordt gezien als aanvulling op de bekende vijfdelige boekenreeks "Infinite Insights into Kenpo", en de lezer wordt aangemoedigd de citaten grondig te analyseren.
Hierna volgen enige citaten uit het boek "The Zen of Kenpo" dat bij Delsby Publications onder ISBN nummer 0910293-10-4 verschenen is.
Ed Parker, door zijn topstudent Skip Hancock omschreven als "The great observer", laat op vaak cryptische wijze zijn licht schijnen op diverse onderwerpen.
Niet alleen op Kenpo ideologie of principes, maar ook moderne filosofie, logica, realistische oogpunten en het dagelijkse leven worden aangeroerd.
Diverse aangehaalde citaten zijn daarnaast nog op meerdere manieren te interpreteren, terwijl anderen juist met betrekking op Kenpo principes consistent zijn en ook wel in de lessen aangehaald worden.
