The details I have on this event are sketchy, to say the least. I will update and accessorise this page as I get more info and graphics. Some interesting points that have come to my attention:
* Western Province stomped on the team event!
* Michael Cowan (Border) took Open Division honours.
* Mike Fourie was the only silver lining on E.P.'s dark, dark cloud. He came back from semi-retirement to take the Senior's title.
* Border were slightly handicapped after trashing a few boards on the way up, when their board trailer overturned!
* E.P., apart from sending the smallest team, were also handicapped by a serious tummy bug.
* Day 1 of the event delivered 10ft gnarly, bonecrushers which sent most, except for the adrenalin junkies, scampering for the hills!
* Brad James has resigned as SAWA President due to his emminent emmigration to New Zealand. (Is that applause I hear in the background?) Steve Schroeder of Border has taken over and will appoint an Executive Committee upon his arrival back in East London.
