We traveled across town tonight to take on the Lynx from AL.  Before the game started I told everyone that all I ask tonight is give us what you got.  Don't take anything home with you, leave it all on the field.  We did just that.  I have to say that tonight we played to win.  We gave it everything we had and just fell short in overtime.  For two halves of regulation we went hard, won 50/50's, control the pace of play and went into the overtime scoreless.  We were controlling the overtime as well, plus having to play into the wind.  Two minutes left in the game and I am preparing to make a defensive shift and just that quick the game was over.  AL takes a hard shot from about 20 yards out.  The shot is right on goal to the upper right hand corner.  Riley our keeper didn't have a chance.  It was a good shot and the game was over.  It turns out to be another loss but it wasn't without a fight tonight.  One game left now in the regular season an that will be next Tuesday on the road back at city fields against Thomas Jefferson.  We need a win to finish strong and get us into the playoffs.  We gotta find a way.  Also in case you didn't notice on the home page and the schedule, the TJ Invitational this weekend was canceled. 

JV fell short as well tonight giving up a cheap goal in the first half off of a corner kick.  The ball bounced around in front of the goal, we couldn't get on it to clear it and it winds up in the net.  Down 1-0 at the half.  Once again we have our opportunities to score and go up but it doesn't happen.  JV will finish with the last game of the season with TJ next week.  Overall we had a good effort by JV as well, just falling short once again.  You don't put too many marks in the W column if you don't score.  We will continue to focus on shooting and finishing this week in practice.
