Doug was glad to see Eric, who arrived just in time for tee-off. The two of them took off with no warm-up throws. At hole one, Doug had a solid drive at the target and converted for the first deuce of the day. A not so good drive on the next hole, gave up that stroke advantage.Doug lost another stroke to Eric on hole four with another bad drive. Eric claimed a deuce on hole 6 to a kiosk-replacement target. An aggressive approach shot (following another bad drive!) cost Doug a stroke at hole eight, but he made it back up with a deuce at a new hole nine. Eric had a steady round with eight pars for a 26, while Doug had more bogeys than deuces for a 28.
Eric opened up the lead with a sterling long deuce on hole ten. Both players claimed deuces at the tree beside the buildings. Eric had his only bogey of the day on the fire hydrant of hole fifteen. Doug also bogeyed. Eric closed on eighteen with a deuce. Eric's round went 26-25 for a 51, while Doug went 28-27 for a 55.
