Doug and Jeff were joined by first timer Bob Culbertson at Oak Grove park. Bob is a local Almaden musician and freestyler. Everybody got off to a slow start, averaging a bogey per hole for the first three holes. At hole four, Doug and Jeff broke through with the first deuces of the day. On the next hole Doug hit a curving, through the trees shot for another deuce. Doug suffered the only O.B. of the day on hole seven, as his drive flew over the boundary fence. At hole eight, Bob and Doug managed to sail through the Y branches of the target tree for deuces. After nine holes, Doug's deuces were balanced by bogeys for an even par 27. Bob was at 31 and Jeff 32.
Doug started the back nine with near ace coming off the hilltop tee. It turned into an easy deuce. The remaining holes were parred pretty easily by all players. Only a couple of bogeys appeared on the score card. Doug had another par 27 on the back nine as Bob and Jeff both had 29. Final scores were Doug 54, Bob a 60, and Jeff 51.
