Doug joined Eric for a round at Maywood I. Doug started with an Ace at hole one (the most aced hole of any course), while Eric deuced. Doug deuced the metal pole of hole four, getting close with a good drive. Eric deuced hole eight with two good shots. Doug finished the front nine with a deuce to take a one stroke lead over Eric.

Eric blazed into the back nine with deuces at holes ten and twelve. He continued the charge to the end finishing with deuces on holes fifteen, sixteen, and eighteen for a sizzling 23 back nine. His total for the day was 26-23 for a sterling 49. Doug finished with a 25-28 for a 53.
