Ten players showed up at Delaveaga Disc Golf Course to play in the annual random pairs, best disc tourney.

Back Row, Left to Right - Dan Burleson, Chris
Illes, John Davis, Sam Stowell, Jeff Tuckwood, Eric Mickelson
Front Row, Left To Right - Doug Korns, Ken Joye, Jim
Hauer, Rich Norris
After warmup and pictures, players were divided into two pools and pairs formed by drawing one player from each pool. Chris Illes and Jim Hauer were the first team drawn. Eric Mickelson and Jeff Tuckwood were the second team drawn and sent off on the smaller card of the lead group. Rich Norris and Ken Joye, the big arms, became the third team. John Davis and Sam Stowell became the fourth team, leaving Doug Korns and Dan Burleson as the fifth team.
The first deuces on the score cards appear at hole six. Ken Joy had a monstrous drive on this long hole, going past the hole. Doug had a long floating drive to put his team down the fairway, while John and Sam found themselves 40+ yards away and shooting first. Sam stepped up with a forehand shot that found nothing but chains, electrifying the crowd. Doug managed to pitch one over and around some trees that made it into the basket for a deuce also. The big drivers did not convert their attempt. At hole eight, with the unusual pin placement in the woods, Doug and Dan scored the only deuce, as John and Sam failed to convert a good drive. A big shift in momentum occurred at hole fourteen as John made a good drive and partner Sam sank a big deuce.
Rich and Ken started their charge with a deuce at hole seventeen, matched by Chris and Jim, as well as Eric and Jeff. Hole twenty left bogeys on three teams scorecards and John and Sam were match by Doug and Dan getting a par. Rich and Ken continued their charge with the only deuce at hole 21, as bogeys hit two teams, giving them big strokes on the field. John and Sam started slamming the door at hole twenty-three as they alone managed a deuce. At hole twenty five John canned a really long deuce for his team to widen their lead. Nobody could master the signature, twenty-seventh hole of Delaveaga, even though it was in its short pin position.
After tallying the scores, John and Sam found only one bogey for the day to go with four deuces for a three under par. Rich and Ken found three bogeys and three deuces on their card for an even par. The team of Eric and Jeff tied Doug and Dan with a two over par as Chris and Jim came in at eight over par.
Thanks to Chris Illes for these and more pictures.
