Golden Oak park found five players home for the Memorial Day weekend. George Allen, in town from New Hampshire, was welcomed by Doug, Jeff, Chris and Eric. Eric took the early lead with pars on the first two holes as everyone else got at least one bogey. Doug sailed his drive over the fence on hole three for an OB. On hole seven, Doug did manage the only deuce on the front nine. Eric went OB on hole nine, but was close enough to the hole, that he claimed a par anyway. Eric had the fewest bogeys, with two, and held the low score after nine holes with a 29. Everybody else was tied at 31!
On the back nine, everybody but Doug claimed a deuce at the tower hole thirteen. George suffered an OB on fourteen as his approach shot landed in the street. Doug claimed the only deuce on hole fifteen, connecting on a long approach shot. Doug and Chris converted good drives on hole sixteen into deuces. Doug gained enough strokes on Eric in the back nine to tie his score at 56. Chris was right behind with 58, George had 59 and Jeff had 62.
