April 1st, 2000
Excitement was running high as five players met for the April Fools Skins Tournament at Linda Vista. Doug, Jim, Eric and Chris welcomed Sam, who was playing for the first time in 2000. Players enjoyed champagne and grape juice in a pre-tournament meeting where the guidelines were explained and then players drew their collection of specially made fun cards.
Chris tasked Doug with playing hole one with a glove on while Eric had to play with a Pocket Pro. The other players managed to get threes, no no skin was won. Details of all the many cards played have faded, but the essence of play was that somehow everybody managed to push the skins on every hole, so that after eighteen holes, no skins had been awarded. Eric then played his special card that he'd been saving, that said any unclaimed skins after eighteen holes were claimed by the holder of that card! So Eric claimed $22.50 worth of skins.
Even though the scores were somewhat rigged, Jim Hauer, with a 50, edged Doug by one stroke for the low score of the day. Chris had 54, Eric 56 and Sam 57. Jim was awarded a special prize, a bottle of "Hebrew's Best" best beer.

Congratulations to Eric who won eighteen skins!

Congratulations to Jim with the low score in the April Fools Skins Tournament.
