March 27th, 1999
Doug was joined by all the new recent players of Chris, Sam, and Jeff at Memorial Park on a clear Saturday morning. Three holes had been played when Eric came running up late to join to group, so Eric started at 9 over par. Eric managed to claim the only deuce on the font nine at hole eight as everybody else played general par and bogey golf. After nine holes Doug was the leader at 28, with Sam close behind at 30. Eric and Jeff had 38 and Chris had 40.
At hole ten, going across the lake, Doug's drive skipped into the water for OB. Jeff, feeling unable to clear the water, decided to play around the lake, but his drive got deflected a tree and went into the water anyway and drowned unrecoverable. At hole eleven Sam had a monstrous drive and parked it next to the tree for an easy deuce. Doug had a nice drive at hole twelve, which he was able to convert to a deuce. Eric parked his drive on hole thirteen on the porch of the old west facade and easily made a deuce. Chris found water on hole fourteen, but recovered his floating dolphin later. Jeff got bitten by the OB water at hole sixteen. Doug and Chris both landed in the creek at hole sixteen. Doug and Sam both made deuces at hole seventeen, while Sam and Eric both closed their rounds with deuces at hole eighteen.
When the scores were tallied, Sam laid claim to his first Winner of the Week with the Flying Deuces with a 54. Eric pointed out that removing his nine over starting point would have left him tied for the lead, but 63 was the recorded score. Doug finished with 57, Chris 78, and Jeff 81.

Congratulations to Sam as Winner of the Week,
Later That Same Day
After the morning round, Sam, Doug and Chris headed over to Santa Cruz to play the twenty-seven holes of Delaveaga Disc Golf Course. They got off to a hard start with none of them being able to get a par for five holes. Finally at hole six, all three woke up and got a par. At this point it looked like the big goal for the day would be to break 100 for the round. Doug played a little more steady and parred five of six holes in one streak. Chris nailed a 20 yard putt for the only par at hole sixteen. The first deuces of the round came at hole seventeen as Doug and Sam had almost identical drives, about eight feet from the basket and both converted. This same hole gave Chris the most trouble as his disc landed on a hillside across a gulley. Getting to it proved to be a jump and a climb and a struggle, all of which turned into a 7 for the hole. Doug followed this with another string of three pars, and at hole twenty-one, his drive skirted the tree-lined fairway and landed ten feet away from the basket, which he converted for his second deuce of the day. Doug finished with four pars on the last five holes, to record a 95 score for the day. No OB or lost discs occurred until Chris tree'd his drive on the very last hole. Chris tallied a 117 and Sam recorded a 110. All three agreed it was one of the most fun rounds they'd ever had.
