SATURDAY 2/8/1997
GAME 2 16:00 Lightning 1 vs. Trintoc United Galaxy 3
Lightning continue attacking and have several chances to score. Here another attept from a TJ pass
to Patrick that sent the ball complitely wide not controlling the ball before making the turn to
shoot. Minutes later Galaxy scored their first on a penalty kick that was awarded when Eric tried
to made a save but instead got caught with the stricker legs in the penalty box. Soon after Lightning
level the score with Bucky and continued defending the unstoppable attacks of Galaxy, counter attacking
almost every time.
On the above picture is the action that created the equilizer from a ball sent from midfield Davey
hit the ball that rebounded from a defender to Bucky and with determination kick in the net.
On the second half both teams had many chances to score but Galaxy went ahead scoring two more goals
both having started from a stricker been on offside position not called by the referee.
There were many many calls not awarded for numerous fouls and offsided and it seem the ref had
something against our team, I don't know why but the inconsistencies and the one way calls made us
believe that the favoritism for the local teams might have had an impact on his poor judgement.
Beside all that Lightning played a very challenging game and gave Galaxy a good match, lucky to have
the officials on their side and win the game. This only made Lightning players down in their morale
after giving 100% see a good game going wrong with poor judgement by the officials was not
fair for what they deserve out of this game that would have finish in a tie or a win if wasn't for a PK
and 2 offside calls. I might said 3 offsides because Davey scored when it started from behind
a Galaxy player on side but the ref blow the whistle after the ball had travel in the air in
the direction of Davey that sprinted fast enough to beat the defence and kick it in the net.
Another goal was also dissallowed when Tyler and Davey were found both off sides and this time
absolutely yes.
To keep the humor and the spirit up we all went to OLIVE GARDEN where they kids forget everything
that happened during the day and had a torrific time.
