We will use this page to try to keep everyone updated on tournaments. We will let you know about tournaments coming up and post the results after the tournament is over. Our Harmony YABA Thanksgiving Tournament is a different format than what most of us are used to for bowling. This is the third year for us having this tournament. It is set up more like a baseball tournament. We do a double elimination. You bowl head to head till you get beat twice. You get beat two times and your out. We have two age divisions, 11 & Under and 12 & Up. All ages are as of August 1, 2002. The cost of the tournament is $10.00 per bowler. We will be giving awards to the top three places in both age divisions. The 1st place in both divisions will also receive a $50.00 Scholarship that will be held in the YABA Smart Fund till used. The 1st place in both divisions will bowl each other for the Tournament Grand Champion. Check in time will be at 10 a.m. and we will bowl at 10:30 a.m.

Every year the Sioux City YABA has a Christmas Tournament. This tournament is open to any YABA member from Harmony Lanes, Plaza Lanes or Lewis Bowl and rotates to a different bowling center each year. This season the Christmas Tournament will be at Lewis Bowl. The tournament is nine pin no tap for the 12 and up ages and 8 pin no tap for the 11 & under ages. All ages are as of August 1, 2002. The divisions in each age groups are Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles. You can bowl singles two times and doubles as many times as you want but you must change partners. The cost of the tournament is $7.00 per event for each bowler. Times for the tournament are 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. for Saturday and 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for Sunday. Harmony Lanes will be having a Christmas Tournament this season the Saturday between Christmas and New Years. We thought this would be a great time while the kids are out of school and looking for things to do. The cost of the tournament is $7.00 per event. The tournament is open to any YABA member from any association or state. You should be at Harmony Lanes one half hour before bowling time to check in. There will be two age divisions, 11 & Under & 12 & Up. All ages will be as of August 1, 2002. Each age group will have Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Harmony Lanes Youth Bowlers will be going to the Nebraska State Tournament Saturday & Sunday May 3rd & 4th. The tournament is in Lincoln this year. We always have a good turnout from Harmony and all ages and averages have done well at the tournament. This is a good tournament for any youth bowler. It does not matter how long you have been bowling or how high or low your average is. They have a scratch singles for the high average bowlers. Singles, team and doubles all have four average divisions all the way down to 90 & under. On Saturday May 3rd we will be bowling team event at 11 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Sunday May 4th we will bowl singles at 9 a.m., doubles at 11:30 a.m. and mixed doubles at 2 p.m. The cost of the tournament is $50.00 and this includes all events. I need all the entry fees turned in to me by February 1st. This would make a great Christmas gift for any youth bowler. If you pay your entry fees by Christmas I can give you a special certificate that you can give your child for Christmas. I have twenty-five poolside rooms reserved at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Lincoln. The rooms are listed under Harmony Lanes. You will need to call and have a room changed to your name. The number to call is (402)464-3171. I have them for Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd. Some of us will be going down Friday and will need the room for both nights and others will drive down Saturday morning and only need it Saturday night. Just have the room put in your name for the nights you need it. The motel has a great pool area and I am sure we will all (kids and adults both) have a good time Saturday night swimming or just hanging out around the pool area.
