Days Six and Seven -Olympia and Tolon

The Temple of Hera through the trees in Olympia

After dinner a group of us went to a jewelry store and a pastry shop in Olympia. We sampled different Greek pastries. They were delicious.

The next morning we went to the archeological site and museum. That was wonderful. I loved seeing things I'd only seen in books and had learned about in art class. I was in awe. From Olympia we went through the mountains to Tolon.

Tolon is right on the Aegean Sea. Some people swam, but I thought it was too cold, plus I was still kind of motion sick from driving on the twisty roads through the mountains. It was still nice to sit on the balcony looking at the sea and writing in my journal. From there to Athens with a stop in Mycenae.
