Required reading for English 191: Science Fiction (taught at Penn State Hazleton) I recommend these very highly for anyone who wishes he or she could take a college course in speculative fiction which is one of the most exciting interdisciplinary fields in literature (it combines English, sciences, social sciences, women's studies, and a host of other fields).
A word about my links:  The links to book titles on this page will take you to Amazon.com where you can buy the books recommended here at a discount and have them delivered to your door. You will need a credit card to do this; it is done on a secure server which encrypts your number so no one else can get it. I've done it many times and had no problems.

This work will give you a brief summary of 100 SF novels.  Of those I have read, I found the summaries (and the books included) to agree with my assessment.  The ones I haven't read are on my "to read" list! (English 191 students will find my copy on reserve in the library.  Others not lucky enough to attend Penn State Hazleton will want to order it!)

This novel is one of my favorites by a master of very funny SF( including the Hitchhiker's Guide series).  Read all about the electric monk! If you loved the Hitchhiker's Guide, you'll love Dirk Gently.
