Description: The matriarch of the family. Named after the ancient Greek Godess Athena, she is anything but a godess! Rescued from the RSPCA animal shelter at Newcastle (AUST), Athena had those big brown puppy eyes that one couldn't refuse. Little did I know then, that she was somewhat stubbon with a tendancy to escape the yard & visit the neighbourhood. After several phone calls of "come get your dog", we moved into a decent house with good fences. Her major quality is loyalty. She is the first to see who is doing what around the house & is prepared to stoically defend by licking to death any offender! At least she has a bark that makes people attentive - and the centre of attention Athena loves to be (especially if it involves heaps of pats).
