Warning--Potentially Insulting to B'nei Akiva

Let me begin by saying that I didn't mind Peduel . The West Bank was a nice quiet place. It was peaceful, the people were friendly, I had no real problem with the place, despite its hippinesss. But it wasn't much of a Yeshiva, as we had been told that it would be, by B'nei Akiva. I was willing to stay, unless somebody offered us a better place to learn.

Others in the group were a bit less content. They were deeply offended by the place, and ready to burn it down. It wasn't really others. It was the entire group, except me, and Benjy Brazil. The rest of the people were deeply offended by the place. So, in their typical way, they complained. The former B'nei Akiva leader of our Hachsharah, had apparently quit in disgrace, so he was to be replaced with Oded. Oded came and listened to them complain.

Immediately, he came on the wrong foot. The first response he gave us was to yell at one of the complainers, because this one in particular had shown up three days later then the rest of us. The leader of British BA, who came with Oded to introduce him to the group, (at this point, I am the only non-Brit there) had to restrain Oded , or he may have gone to physically attack this kid.

However, they did want to know what was wanted. However, we each had different objectives, and different things we wanted. Divided we fall. Oded looked a bit smug. If there's no solution, then he can't be bothered with the problem.

"I personally don't mind this place," I submitted, "but, I think that everybody would be satisfied if you could find a legitimate Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Do you all agree?" All agreed.

"OK, well we'll do our best. We'll come back in a week, give you what we got. But you have to give it all you got this week, deal?"

It was agreed. We didn't really expect anything to come from this, I mean, we're dealing with B'nei Akiva here, but we did improve our ...whatever it was we did there.

However a rumor started. It seems one of the Brits' parents called up to complain, and the leader of BA in England ( a different guy who visited us) assured them that we were to be moved to Machon Meir, a legitimate Yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Wow, could it be BA would actually come through for us? Could it be?
