The College of Liberal Arts offers students a comprehensive liberal education that provides in-depth preparation to enter graduate and professional schools. A talented, multicultural faculty provide excellent instruction in the ten academic departments.

Available to students are eighteen Bachelor Degree programs, two Associate programs, one certification program and five Graduate Degree programs. As one of the largest academic units at Grambling State University, the College of Liberal Arts strives always to enrich, enhance, and strengthen the curricula.

Students and faculty members engage in numerous public and community service activities including the International Kiddie Kollege program. Established in 1983, this unique program provides inter-cultural experiences to American and Mexican children at an early age. Numerous educators have participated in Fulbright Seminars throughout Europe, Asia, and South America. The successful and popular Travel/Study program affords participants the opportunity to live in the homes of host families, attend classes, and earn up to six semester hours of credit in a variety of subjects.

Among the many accomplishments of the College of Liberal Arts are the Grambling State University radio station - KGRM, and a state-of-the-art community Cable TV system. Students take full advantage of the hands-on training they receive at these two facilities. Since 1935, the College of Liberal Arts has published the campus newspaper - The Gramblinite. Other credits to the college are the History of Grambling State University, published in 1985 by Dr. Mildred Gallot; the establishment of the McIntosh International Center in 1987; GES Curriculum design in 1985; and the oldest ongoing graduate program, the MALA, on campus.

Faculty members have published numerous articles and books, guided graduate and undergraduate students into preparing creative works and into presenting and publishing a multiplicity of papers at state and national conferences while simultaneously building and reinforcing educational quality control and assurance.

The College of Liberal Arts has had nine Fulbright Grants, three Title III grants and two University Linkage Grants Scholars in Residence Programs. Students have participated in seminars and in Residence programs in universities all over the world.

These achievements further support the goals and objectives of the College of Liberal Arts that interlock with those of GSU - "Creating and Achieving Excellence in All Programs and Activities."
